About EarliPoint Health
EarliPoint Health is transforming access to autism care. Our FDA-cleared eye-tracking technology delivers objective insights into a child’s development, empowering clinicians to diagnose earlier, treat sooner, and measure outcomes.
Position Overview
EarliPoint Health is seeking a highly capable and execution-oriented Senior Data Engineer to design and build the foundation of our next-generation data platform. This role will lead the architecture of our cloud-based data ecosystem, including both our analytical data warehouse and the underlying data models that support our application databases. This role will design reusable data products and customer-facing data delivery mechanisms supporting reporting, research collaborations, customer analytics, and regulatory submissions.
This role may include ETL or pipeline engineering, but additionally we are looking for someone who understands how data should be modeled, stored, governed, and accessed across enterprise organizations. The ideal candidate has experience designing scalable cloud data architectures, building modern data warehouses, and partnering closely with software engineers, data scientists, product managers, and clinical teams to ensure data systems are built correctly from the ground up.
Responsibilities
What Success Looks Like
- Design a scalable enterprise data architecture that supports both operational applications and analytics.
- Develop governed data models for clinical, product, and research data.
- Build a secure cloud-based data warehouse integrating product, clinical, and operational data.
- Establish standards for data governance, quality, documentation, and lifecycle management.
- Enable reliable reporting, customer analytics, AI development, and regulatory evidence generation.
- Ensure our data infrastructure is scalable, secure, and compliant with HIPAA and medical device quality requirements.
Qualifications & Experience
Required
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 5–10 years of experience in data engineering, data architecture, or enterprise data warehouse development.
- Strong experience designing relational and dimensional (fact/dimension) data models.
- Experience designing enterprise-scale cloud data platforms and warehouses.
- Strong knowledge of SQL, database design, indexing, and performance optimization.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Design scalable APIs and data services that enable secure access to enterprise data across internal applications, customer environments, analytics platforms, and machine learning systems.
- Experience with modern warehouse technologies such as Databricks, Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery, Synapse, or equivalent.
- Experience building scalable batch and streaming data pipelines.
- Strong understanding of data governance, metadata management, data quality, and data lifecycle management.
- Experience implementing role-based access control, encryption, and secure handling of sensitive data.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across engineering, data science, product, clinical, and quality organizations.
Preferred
- Experience in healthcare, digital health, biotechnology, or medical devices.
- Experience designing systems containing protected health information (PHI) under HIPAA.
- Familiarity with FDA-regulated software development environments, including Software as a Medical Device (SaMD).
- Experience supporting quality systems (e.g., 21 CFR Part 820, IEC 62304, ISO 13485, HL7, FHIR) or equivalent regulated development environments.
- Experience implementing audit trails, data lineage, and traceability for regulated systems.
- Familiarity with Spark, Delta Lake, Kafka, Airflow, dbt, Terraform, or infrastructure-as-code tools.
