Junior Technical Project Manager
Volatus Health is seeking a highly organized Junior Technical Project Manager to support the development of our next-generation fertility electronic medical record (EMR) platform. This role will work closely with two Product Managers and the engineering team to translate product requirements into well-defined Jira stories, maintain project schedules, monitor sprint progress, and ensure development work remains organized and on schedule.
This is an ideal position for someone early in their project management career who enjoys organization, documentation, and working with software development teams.
ResponsibilitiesJira Administration
- Create and maintain Epics, Features, Stories, Tasks, and Bugs in Jira.
- Convert Product Manager requirements into clear, developer-ready Jira tickets.
- Ensure all tickets include:
- Business objective
- User story
- Acceptance criteria
- Dependencies
- Priority
- Attachments and mockups
- Maintain ticket quality and consistency.
- Keep Jira boards clean and current.
- Monitor ticket status and follow up on stale work items.
Project Coordination
- Track project milestones and delivery dates.
- Monitor sprint progress and identify schedule risks.
- Maintain project dashboards and reports.
- Escalate blockers to Product Managers.
- Coordinate priorities between Product, Engineering, QA, and UX teams.
- Prepare weekly status reports.
Product Support
- Attend product planning meetings.
- Capture meeting notes, decisions, and action items.
- Assist Product Managers with backlog grooming.
- Help prioritize upcoming work.
- Track feature requests and customer feedback.
Development Coordination
- Verify developers understand ticket requirements.
- Ensure acceptance criteria are complete before work begins.
- Coordinate handoffs between:
- Product
- Engineering
- QA
- Customer Success
Documentation
Maintain project documentation including:
- Product specifications
- Release notes
- Feature documentation
- Sprint summaries
- Decision logs
- Risk registers
QualificationsRequired
- Experience using Jira in an Agile software development environment.
- Excellent written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency with Google Workspace.
Preferred
- Experience with healthcare software, EMRs, or SaaS products.
- Familiarity with Agile and Scrum methodologies.
- Experience working with engineering teams.
- Exposure to UX design tools (Figma or similar).
- Basic understanding of APIs, databases, or software architecture.

Preferred Candidate Profile
This role is best suited for someone who enjoys bringing structure to complex software projects. The ideal candidate is disciplined about follow-through, can keep multiple workstreams organized simultaneously, and has enough technical curiosity to understand software development without needing to write code. Experience in regulated industries such as healthcare is a plus, but the primary requirement is the ability to produce clear, actionable Jira tickets and keep Agile projects moving predictably.
Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
