Role & Responsibilities:
The Senior Director, Enterprise Strategy will report to the executive leader of the Strategy & Portfolio team within the Corporate Strategy & Market Analytics organization, and will partner with leaders across GE Vernova’s corporate and business unit teams to lead strategy projects.
Enterprise Strategy
Perform strategic analyses, market assessments and scenario planning to understand trends, assess growth opportunities and anticipate disruptions in GE Vernova’s markets
Help identify the top corporate-level strategic opportunities or risks facing GE Vernova, and lead strategic analyses to address them
Work closely with the market analytics team to translate market intelligence into actionable strategic insights
Portfolio & M&A Strategy
Analyze GE Vernova’s current portfolio of businesses and develop options for strategic portfolio expansion and optimization
Collaborate closely with GE Vernova’s Corporate Business Development team in developing and evaluating strategic choices of acquisitions and/or divestitures
Collaborate closely with GE Vernova’s Corporate Business Development team in developing and evaluating strategic choices of acquisitions and/or divestitures
Analyze adjacent markets for potential GE Vernova entry: assess attractiveness (size and growth, value pool, customer segmentation, competitive landscape, etc.) and strategic fit (alignment with GE Vernova’s customer priorities, GE Vernova’s parenting advantage, etc.) and formulate recommendations on market entry decisions
Cultivate ecosystem relationships and compare build, buy and partner options for market entry to identify specific, actionable organic investment and strategic acquisition and partnership opportunities
Across these projects the Senior Director, Enterprise Strategy will:
Structure the strategic problem-solving and develop and execute project plans
Secure buy-in from key stakeholders across the organization and orchestrate contributions from junior team members and virtual teams
Conduct rigorous quantitative analyses with actionable recommendations
Contribute to Senior Leadership and Board presentations and discussions to drive alignment at executive reviews
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering/science, finance, economics, business or related field
At least 6 years of experience in Strategy Consulting (Associate Partner level or equivalent), or 8-10 years in Corporate Strategy roles, or a combination.
Experience leading or contributing to a corporate strategic planning process, growth strategy development and M&A strategy formulation
Analytical, structured and rigorous data-driven approach. Ability to problem-solve complex business issues, develop new frameworks and analytical approaches, perform research and analyses, apply business judgment and financial acumen, and synthesize conclusions into a value-maximizing strategy.
Track record of learning and using new AI-powered tools to accelerate and expand strategic analyses
Proven ability to lead virtual teams, manage projects and deliver results on time in a matrixed environment. Strong customer orientation and collaborative mindset. Comfortable acting as an individual contributor and as leader of a large virtual team (Player/Coach)
Ability to deliver high-quality work and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to present findings and recommendations in concise, easy-to-understand terms and to rally stakeholders around a common vision.
Executive presence and ability to build trust and influence senior leaders to drive change.
Excellent technical skills, including modeling in Microsoft Excel and developing presentations in Microsoft PowerPoint.
Ideal candidate will also have the following additional qualifications:
Industry experience in the Technology and Energy/Power industries
Commercial due diligence for investments
MBA degree
Expected travel: approximately 25% on average
