We are seeking a seasoned HVAC/R Manager to lead our mechanical department. This is a dual-focus role requiring a unique blend of technical mastery, sharp estimating skills, and disciplined project management. You will be responsible for the entire project lifecycle—from the initial bid and system design to final commissioning—ensuring all commercial and industrial HVAC/R projects are delivered on time, under budget, and to the highest technical standards.

Key Responsibilities1. Estimating & Pre-Construction

• Perform comprehensive take-offs and labor/material cost analysis for commercial HVAC and refrigeration projects.
• Prepare detailed proposals and bid packages, ensuring competitive pricing while maintaining healthy profit margins.
• Review blueprints, specifications, and CAD drawings to determine project scope and technical requirements.
• Negotiate with vendors and subcontractors to secure best-in-class pricing for equipment and materials.

2. Project Management

• Manage multiple HVAC/R projects simultaneously, overseeing schedules, resource allocation, and site safety.
• Act as the primary point of contact for General Contractors, building owners, and engineers.
• Track project financial performance, managing Change Orders and progress billing to ensure positive cash flow.
• Conduct site visits to monitor installation quality and ensure compliance with local mechanical and building codes.

3. Team Leadership

• Direct a team of technicians and installers, providing technical guidance on complex VRF, chilled water, and commercial refrigeration systems.
• Implement and enforce rigorous safety protocols (OSHA compliance).
• Mentor junior staff and estimators to build departmental capacity.

Qualifications & Skills

• Experience: Minimum 7–10 years in the HVAC/R industry, with at least 3 years in a dedicated management or estimating role.
• Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of hydronic systems, DX systems, refrigeration cycles, and Building Automation Systems (BAS).
• Software Proficiency: Experience with estimating software (e.g., QuoteSoft, Trimble) and project management tools (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam).
• Licensing: Relevant state mechanical licenses or NATE certifications are highly preferred.
• Communication: Exceptional "soft skills" for client relationship management and team leadership.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
