Position Summary
The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for supporting all aspects of the employee lifecycle while partnering with managers and employees to ensure consistent application of company policies, employment practices, and HR initiatives across multiple business units.
This position serves as a trusted HR resource by administering day-to-day human resources functions, including recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, benefits, leave administration, performance management, compliance, and HR operations. The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, solutions-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing and project-driven environment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Employee Relations
- Serve as a trusted resource for employees and managers regarding HR policies, procedures, and workplace concerns.
- Partner with managers to resolve employee relations issues while promoting a positive work environment.
- Assist with coaching, performance management, disciplinary actions, investigations, and documentation.
- Support employee engagement, recognition, and retention initiatives.
- Maintain strict confidentiality when handling employee matters.
Recruitment & Onboarding
- Coordinate full-cycle recruiting for assigned positions.
- Create and manage job postings across multiple recruiting platforms.
- Screen applicants, schedule interviews, and coordinate the hiring process.
- Conduct background checks, employment verifications, and pre-employment activities.
- Coordinate onboarding and new hire orientation to ensure a positive employee experience.
HR Administration
- Process employee status changes, promotions, transfers, compensation changes, and terminations.
- Maintain employee personnel files and HRIS records.
- Assist with payroll processing and employee benefits administration.
- Support leave administration, including FMLA, ADA accommodations, workers' compensation, and unemployment claims.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws as well as company policies.
- Maintain required HR reports, compliance documentation, and employee records.
Performance Management & Talent Development
- Support the performance review process.
- Assist managers with employee development plans and coaching.
- Track required training, certifications, and compliance requirements.
- Promote leadership development and employee growth initiatives.
HR Projects & Operations
- Participate in company-wide HR initiatives and special projects.
- Recommend process improvements that enhance efficiency and employee experience.
- Prepare reports, presentations, metrics, and HR analytics.
- Support HR audits and compliance reviews.
- Assist with organizational changes and workforce planning initiatives as needed.
Qualifications Required
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of Human Resources Generalist experience.
- Working knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
- Experience supporting multiple HR functions, including employee relations, recruiting, benefits, and compliance.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and maintain confidentiality.
Preferred
- HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP, or equivalent).
- Experience with ADP Workforce Now or another HRIS.
- Experience supporting manufacturing, construction, logistics, fabrication, flooring, or production environments.
- Experience supporting multi-state and multi-location operations.

Work Environment
This position operates in both professional office and manufacturing environments and requires frequent interaction with employees, supervisors, managers, and executive leadership across multiple company locations.
The Human Resources Generalist must be comfortable balancing administrative responsibilities with employee-facing support while working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Occasional travel between company locations may be required.
