Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented attorney to join our dynamic Family and Criminal Law legal team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic, excellent written communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. This role includes managing cases, preparing filings for court, writing and editing motions and briefs, and ensuring the smooth operation of the firm caseload.

Duties:

- Conduct legal research using resources such as Westlaw
- Draft legal documents, including briefs, pleadings, and contracts
- Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients
- Assist senior attorneys with case management and preparation
- Communicate with clients, witnesses, and other attorneys

-Log case information in Clio file management system.

Skills:

1. Research and Documentation: Conduct thorough legal research and gather pertinent information related to cases. Prepare and edit legal documents such as motions, briefs, and letters.

2. Client Interaction: Manage communication, schedule meetings, and ensure timely updates to clients.

3. Trial Preparation: Prepare for trials, including organizing exhibits, coordinating witness testimonies, and ensuring all necessary files are in order to try the case.

4. Case Management: Organize and maintain case files, track important deadlines, and ensure timely filing of legal documents.

Qualifications:

1. Education: Juris Doctorate from accredited law school.

2. Certifications: Member of Michigan Bar or taking the July Bar.

3. Experience: 1-3 years of experience as an Attorney or relevant externship experience.

4. Skills:

- Top writing and proofreading skills.

- Proficiency in managing case load and understanding of legal process.

- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills.

- Proficiency in MS Office and legal software such as Clio.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
