Overview
The Human Resources Assistant Manager supports the HR Manager in the daily operations of the Human Resources Department and assists in implementing HR programs that align with the organization’s goals. This role plays a key part in recruitment, employee relations, training, compliance, compensation and benefits administration, and fostering a positive workplace culture.
Key Responsibilities
HR Operations & Administrative Support
- Assist the HR Manager in the implementation of HR policies, procedures, and programs.
- Maintain accurate employee records and ensure proper documentation and filing.
- Support the development and maintenance of the Employee Handbook and Codes of Conduct.
- Prepare HR reports, memos, and documentation for management review.
Recruitment & Talent Acquisition
- Assist in coordinating recruitment and hiring activities, including job postings, screening, interviews, and job offers.
- Support onboarding processes to ensure smooth integration of new hires.
- Assist in conducting new employee orientations and ensuring understanding of workplace policies.
Employee Relations
- Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries and concerns under the guidance of the HR Manager.
- Assist in responding to employee relations issues, investigations, and disciplinary processes in accordance with company policies.
- Promote a respectful and professional workplace environment.
Performance Management
- Assist in coordinating performance evaluations and tracking appraisal schedules.
- Support managers with performance improvement plans and documentation.
- Maintain records of employee performance and corrective actions.
Training & Development
- Assist in identifying training needs and coordinating internal and external training programs.
- Track employee training participation and certifications.
- Support workforce development and leadership initiatives.
Compensation & Benefits Administration
- Assist in the administration of payroll coordination, benefits enrollment, and employee benefit inquiries.
- Support compensation reviews and benefits program implementation.
- Maintain confidentiality of all compensation and benefits information.
Compliance & Risk Management
- Support compliance with Guam and Federal labor laws and regulatory requirements.
- Assist with workplace safety initiatives and incident documentation.
- Ensure HR practices follow legal and company standards.
HR Systems & Process Improvement
- Assist in maintaining HR data accuracy and reporting.
- Support HR analytics for workforce planning and decision-making.
- Help identify and implement process improvements within HR operations.
Culture & Organizational Development
- Support employee engagement initiatives, company events, and team-building activities.
- Promote company values, mission, and a positive organizational culture.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in Human Resources or a related role. Supervisory experience is an advantage.
