Job Summary
The Wareshouse Team Member's primary emphasis is operating folklifts (telehandler experience a must) and wareshouse/yard operations.
As the lead Forklift Operator, you are responsible for the safe, efficient, and precise operation of material-handling equipment, including telescopic forklifts (telehandlers), high-capacity forklifts, warehouse forklifts, and aerial work platforms. This role requires extensive experience handling heavy and oversized loads in warehouse, yard, and jobsite environments.
When not actively operating equipment, the operator will support warehouse operations including inventory management, equipment organization, reconciliation, and general facility support.
The ideal candidate demonstrates exceptional safety awareness, spatial reasoning, technical proficiency, and strong communication skills to ensure smooth, accident-free operations.
Key Responsibilities
Equipment Operation
- Safely operate telescopic forklifts/telehandlers with lifting capacities of 6,000–10,000 lbs and greater
- Operate standard warehouse forklifts (sit-down, stand-up, or rough terrain as required)
- Perform boom lift and aerial work platform operations, safely elevating personnel, tools, and materials for construction, maintenance, or installation work
- Accurately handle, transport, and place materials in tight or elevated spaces using advanced spatial awareness
- Secure loads properly and follow all load-handling and rigging best practices
Equipment Maintenance & Inspection
- Conduct daily, weekly, and periodic equipment inspections
- Perform routine forklift maintenance (fluids, filters, lubrication, minor adjustments)
- Identify mechanical issues and report or coordinate repairs as needed
- Maintain equipment logs and inspection documentation
Warehouse & Yard Operations
- Organize, stage, and maintain warehouse and yard inventory
- Pull, count, reconcile, and track equipment and materials
- Assist with shipping, receiving, and loading/unloading deliveries
- Maintain clean, orderly, and safe work areas
- Support inventory audits and asset tracking efforts
Safety & Compliance
- Adhere to OSHA, company, and site-specific safety policies at all times
- Maintain awareness of surroundings, pedestrian traffic, and overhead hazards
- Participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, and ongoing training
- Proactively identify and mitigate safety risks
Team Collaboration
- Communicate effectively with warehouse staff, supervisors, and site personnel
- Work collaboratively to meet operational deadlines and priorities
- Adapt to changing workloads, schedules, and jobsite conditions
- Provide mentorship or guidance to less experienced operators as needed
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience operating forklifts and material-handling equipment
- Current forklift certification, including telehandlers (6,000–15,000 lbs or greater)
- Proven experience operating boom lifts and aerial work platforms
- Strong mechanical aptitude with ability to perform routine equipment maintenance
- Exceptional safety record and safety-first mindset
- Excellent spatial reasoning, attention to detail, and situational awareness
- Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying conditions
- Ability to lift, carry, and maneuver heavy materials as required
Preferred Qualifications
- OSHA or ANSI certifications related to forklift and aerial lift operation
- Experience in construction, industrial, logistics, or heavy-equipment environments
- Familiarity with inventory management systems or asset tracking tools
- Experience with Tenting or Special Events Inventory strongly recommended.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, sit, climb, bend, and lift for extended periods
- Ability to work at heights using aerial platforms
- Capability to lift and maneuver materials in accordance with safety guidelines

- Conduct safety briefings, audits, hazard assessments, and emergency drills.
