The School of Communication, English, & World Languages is seeking an Assistant Professors for English to begin fall 2026.
The Assistant Professor has the primary responsibility of instruction in the classroom for students enrolled in English courses, as well as ensuring the success and retention of students while maintaining high academic standards.
Design and deliver student learning experiences and assess student progress.
Provide constructive and timely communication with students and colleagues.
Guide and mentor students in and outside the classroom to promote their success.
Collaborate with colleagues to promote learning and professional growth.
Engage in ongoing professional growth and development.
Serve the college and community as an active contributing professional.
Master's degree in English or Master's Degree with 18 graduate hours in English.
Primary teaching responsibilities in Composition courses. Philosophy compatible with that of a comprehensive urban community college.
Ph.D. in English.
Experience in developmental or co-requisite English education; teaching experience at the community college or university level.
Preference for faculty who have familiarity with dual credit teaching as part of the community college mission.
Experience teaching reading or reading credentialing preferred.
