Job Overview
The cashier is responsible for the day-to-day convenience store operations and will be but not limited to running the till, cleaning and stocking shelves, checking for outdates, sweeping/washing floors, cleaning bathrooms, emptying garbage in the store and by the pumps, refilling window washing fluid and towels.
The Store Cashier/Deli Worker is a vital member of our organization playing an essential role in the retention and growth of the convenience store developing strategies to improve customer service, drive sales, and increase profitability.
Responsibilities and Duties
· Maintain high level of customer service, having a customer first attitude.
· Perform, implement, and enforce established daily operating procedures to ensure store is clean, stocked, organized, and well kept.
· Maintain quality brand image standards.
· Communicate any merchandising problems, price change requests, and equipment problems.
· Abide by the State of MN Health Code and licensing for deli workers.
Qualifications
· High school diploma preferred but not required. Over age 18 preferred as anyone under age 18 may not sell tobacco products.
· Specific skills:
· Effective communication skills including patience and listening skills.
· Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
· Ability to problem solve, manage conflict, and multi-task.
· Strong work ethic.
Dress Code/Hygiene Policy:
· Must be bathed and well kept, hair must be clean and neat.
· Clothes should be clean and free of odors and holes.
· No leggings.
· Shirts must have short or long sleeves and be modest.
· Uniform shirts will be issued in the future.
· Closed toe shoes must be always worn.
· Hair nets/caps are always required in the deli.
Holidays
· Store will be closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas Day.
· Holidays and holiday pay rate will be discussed per occasion.
Full-Time
· Hours will be 64-80 hours per pay period.
Part-Time
· Hours will be less than 64 per pay period.
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
