Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Tax Expert/CPA. In this role, you will leverage your extensive accounting and tax experience to ensure compliance with regulatory standards, optimize tax strategies, and support financial reporting processes. Your expertise will be instrumental in managing complex tax issues, conducting detailed financial analyses, and contributing to the overall financial health of the organization. Duties

• Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns ensuring accuracy and compliance with current laws and regulations.
• Provide expert advice on estate planning, wills, trusts, and estate law to support clients’ long-term financial goals.
• Conduct thorough audits.
• Analyze financial statements and reports to interpret financial concepts and technical accounting standards.
• Support mergers & acquisitions by performing due diligence, valuation analysis, and integration of financial data.
• Manage tax accounting processes, including double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, and reconciliation of accounts such as general ledger and balance sheets.
• Utilize accounting software like QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar tools for bookkeeping, financial report writing, and account reconciliation.
• Assist in budgeting, financial planning, asset management, and investment analysis to optimize organizational growth strategies.
• Ensure regulatory reporting accuracy for non-profit organizations or other entities with specialized accounting needs such as LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit).
• Collaborate with teams on financial analysis for sales growth initiatives or financial services offerings while maintaining compliance with securities law where applicable.

Skills

• Proven expertise in estate planning, wills, trusts & estate law combined with strong tax experience.
• Extensive knowledge of SOX compliance requirements and regulatory frameworks affecting financial reporting.
• Proficiency in accounting software including QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or equivalent platforms; strong technical accounting skills.
• Deep understanding of GAAP standards along with regulatory compliance accounting practices.
• Experience in auditing processes, public accounting environments, or corporate accounting roles.
• Strong analytical skills for financial report interpretation and analysis; excellent account reconciliation capabilities.
• Familiarity with securities law related to investment products or financial services is a plus.
• Ability to handle complex mergers & acquisitions activities alongside detailed tax planning strategies.
• Skilled in financial statement preparation and analysis—balancing sheet reconciliation and general ledger management are essential.
• Knowledge of non-profit accounting principles; experience with payroll processing is advantageous.
• Excellent attention to detail in account analysis and bookkeeping tasks; adept at budgeting and asset management strategies.
• Strong communication skills for effective report writing and collaboration across departments; high level of financial acumen required.

Pay: $35.00 - $45.00 per hour
