Survey Crew Chief Description: Landmark Engineering & Surveying Corporation is seeking an outstanding Survey Crew Chief to join their Hillsborough County Survey Team. Qualified candidate will have a minimum of 2 years’ experience as a crew chief and be able to manage a survey crew in the field to conduct surveys for projects such as boundary determination, building stakeouts, foundation tie-ins, constructional (infrastructure and earthwork), topography, tree location, wetland and line location, etc.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Leads a one to four- person survey crew including assigning work and training to facilitate optimum productivity.
• Performs mathematical calculations to determine distances, angles, elevations, grades and curves, and makes sketches and drawings, writes field notes, and provides other documentation to support surveys.
• Operates various kinds of survey equipment to collect data and trains crew members in proper use of the equipment.
• Makes decisions in the field regarding proper surveying procedures and resolves surveying problems that do not exceed limits or variances.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements: Hearing and vision are required. Able to lift up to 15 pounds. This position will be exposed to all weather conditions. Subject to extensive walking and standing. Work conducted on all types of terrain.

Qualifications: Qualified candidates must have at least three years recent experience in land surveying field work with at least one year as a crew chief. Candidates must possess strong math skills and knowledge of land boundary surveying procedures. GPS experience is a plus.
