About the Campaign
Frank Russo for Governor is building a statewide grassroots movement focused on affordability, insurance reform, economic opportunity, government accountability, and putting Floridians first. We are seeking an experienced, driven, and highly organized Field Director to lead our voter outreach, volunteer engagement, and statewide grassroots organizing efforts.
Position Overview
The Field Director will oversee all aspects of the campaign's field operation, including volunteer recruitment, voter contact programs, grassroots organizing, coalition building, and Get Out The Vote (GOTV) efforts. This individual will play a key leadership role in developing and executing a statewide field strategy designed to maximize voter engagement and turnout.
The ideal candidate is a strong manager, strategic thinker, and self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced political environment and has experience managing field programs at the local, state, or federal level.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the campaign's statewide field strategy.
- Recruit, train, and manage regional organizers, field staff, interns, and volunteers.
- Build and maintain volunteer teams across Florida.
- Oversee voter contact programs, including door-to-door canvassing, phone banking, text banking, and community outreach efforts.
- Establish field goals, benchmarks, and reporting systems to track campaign progress.
- Coordinate grassroots events, town halls, rallies, meet-and-greets, and voter engagement activities.
- Build relationships with local political leaders, community organizations, advocacy groups, and coalition partners.
- Utilize voter data and analytics to target key voter segments and optimize field efforts.
- Work closely with campaign leadership, communications, political, and finance teams to ensure integrated campaign execution.
- Recruit, train, and manage regional organizers, field staff, interns, and volunteers.
- Lead the campaign's Get Out The Vote (GOTV) operation through Election Day.
- Ensure compliance with all campaign and election laws related to field operations.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of campaign, political, grassroots organizing, public affairs, or advocacy experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership or management role.
- Demonstrated experience managing field staff, interns, volunteer programs, and large-scale voter contact operations.
- Proven track record of developing and executing successful field, grassroots, voter registration, voter persuasion, and Get Out The Vote (GOTV) programs.
- Experience recruiting, training, motivating, and retaining volunteers, interns, and grassroots leaders across multiple regions.
- Strong leadership, team-building, and personnel management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
- Experience overseeing regional organizers, county captains, volunteer leaders, and field teams in a fast-paced campaign environment.
- Proficiency with voter databases and campaign technology platforms, including Voter Gravity, NGP VAN, NationBuilder, or similar voter contact and data management systems.
- Strong understanding of voter targeting, field metrics, data analysis, and performance reporting.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, organizational, and project management skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, and travel extensively throughout Florida.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience on statewide, congressional, gubernatorial, or presidential campaigns.
- Existing relationships with grassroots organizations, political leaders, or activists throughout Florida.
- Experience managing multi-region field programs and large-scale volunteer operations.
Compensation
- Salary range: $5,000 - $7,000 per month, commensurate with experience.
- Opportunity for performance-based bonuses.
- Travel expenses reimbursed in accordance with campaign policy.
Pay: $5,000.00 - $7,000.00 per month
