A local Tulsa company is seeking an experienced and motivated Lead Industrial Zinc Painter to join their team on the day shift. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing daily painting operations, directing crew activities, ensuring quality standards are met, and maintaining a safe and productive work environment. The ideal candidate will have strong industrial painting experience, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to coordinate workflow while remaining hands-on in the coating process.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the daily activities of industrial painting personnel, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and according to specifications.
• Coordinate workloads, assign tasks, and monitor crew performance to maintain production schedules and quality standards.
• Prepare surfaces for zinc coating by cleaning, sanding, grinding, and inspecting materials to ensure proper coating adhesion.
• Operate airless paint sprayers, spray guns, and other coating equipment to apply zinc coatings to industrial components and structures.
• Perform and oversee quality inspections, including coating thickness measurements, finish consistency, and adherence to customer and company specifications.
• Train and mentor employees on proper painting techniques, equipment operation, safety procedures, and quality expectations.
• Ensure compliance with all OSHA, company safety policies, and environmental regulations.
• Operate forklifts, cranes, and other material handling equipment to move materials and finished products safely throughout the facility.
• Communicate with production management regarding project status, staffing needs, material requirements, and operational concerns.
• Assist with fabrication, assembly, rework, and repair tasks as needed to support production goals.
• Promote lean manufacturing practices and identify opportunities for process improvements and increased efficiency.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times.

Qualifications

• Previous industrial painting, zinc coating, construction painting, manufacturing, or auto painting experience required.
• Prior leadership, foreman, lead man, or supervisory experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred.
• Proficient in the operation of airless paint sprayers, spray guns, hand tools, power tools, forklifts, and overhead cranes.
• Strong knowledge of surface preparation, coating application techniques, and quality control processes.
• Ability to read work orders, specifications, and production schedules.
• Basic math skills and the ability to use measuring tools and coating thickness gauges accurately.
• Mechanical aptitude with knowledge of fabrication, welding, machining, and manufacturing processes preferred.
• Experience with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives is a plus.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to lead by example while working effectively in a fast-paced production environment.

• Ability to lift, move, and handle materials in an industrial setting.
• Reliable attendance and commitment to workplace safety.
• Must be able to work overtime and Saturdays as needed.
