Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Mailroom Clerk Lead to oversee the daily operations of our mailroom and warehouse distribution processes. This leadership role involves handling of mail and packages. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong organizational skills, experience in warehouse operations, and the ability to lead a team effectively. This position plays a vital role in maintaining smooth logistics flow and supporting overall operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Process, sort, open, and batch incoming mail orders for data entry
- Handle corporate mail, customer returns, packages, and customer service correspondence
- Process payments including checks, credit cards, and TeleCheck transactions; maintain accurate records
- Operate mailroom equipment such as scanners, postage meters, and letter inserters
- Prepare outgoing mail including labeling, stuffing envelopes, applying postage, and mailing compliance
- Receive, log, track, and distribute certified, registered, and return receipt mail and packages
- Maintain mailroom logs, reports, postage records, and inventory documentation
- Support daily mailroom operations and ensure compliance with internal processing standards
- Coordinate interoffice mail and deliveries between locations and departments
- Process refund checks, vendor mail, and customer service documentation
- Monitor and order mailroom supplies and maintain inventory levels
- Assist with reporting, security documentation, and month-end mail/postage tracking
- Cross-train and perform additional duties as assigned by management
- Communicate operational updates and issues to management as needed
Qualifications
- Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean motor vehicle record
- Must be able to speak, read, and write English
- Must be able to prioritize and multitask
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
- Must be able to use a calculator and have computer skills
- Ability to effectively work in a team environment
