CABINET MAKER & MILLWORK INSTALLER
Skilled Trades | Full Time | Onsite in Fountain Valley, CA
For the craftsperson who believes the details no one sees matter as much as the ones everyone does.
WE ARE LOOKING FOR Exceptional Craftspeople OF CHARACTER
We are not simply hiring someone to build and install cabinets. We are looking for craftspeople who take pride in precision, earn trust through integrity, and show up for their team every single day.
For over two decades, 405 Cabinets & Stone has designed, manufactured, and installed prefabricated and custom cabinetry from our home in Southern California. Our work has been featured at KBIS and PCBC Tradeshows. We are family built, owned, and operated, with decision makers on the floor and no layers between you and leadership. Because we make what we sell, you will install cabinetry built to the same standard you bring to every project.
We believe the way the work is done matters as much as whether it gets done. If good enough has never felt good enough to you, you will fit right in.
THE ROLE
You will turn detailed design plans into beautifully finished kitchens, baths, and living spaces. You will build and customize cabinetry in the shop, install it flawlessly in the field, and hand every customer a result they are proud of at the final walk through. This is hands-on work for a true craftsperson who values tight joinery, exact measurements, and clean job sites.
WHAT YOU WILL OWN
Build and Customize
● Build, modify, and assemble RTA and custom cabinetry to exact specifications using traditional woodworking skill and modern shop equipment.
● Read and verify shop drawings and design plans before any cut is made. Accurate measurement is non-negotiable.
● Perform precise cutting, shaping, drilling, fitting, and finishing to premium quality standards.
Install
● Gather products, hardware, and tools with the warehouse team and transport them to site in a company vehicle.
● Confirm field conditions, report any discrepancy to the foreman before proceeding, and complete final quality and safety checks.
● Install cabinetry, hardware, and trim level, plumb, square, and secure.
● Leave every job site clean, protected, and ready for the customer to enjoy.
Quality and Communication
● Inspect materials on arrival and in production. Catch defects, color variances, and mismatches before they reach the customer.
● Bring practical solutions to problems, not excuses. Keep your reporting to the foreman honest, specific, and actionable.
● Follow every safety protocol, SOP, quality standards, and PPE requirement without exception.
WHAT EXCELLENT LOOKS LIKE
● Every installation reflects exceptional craftsmanship, precision, and attention to detail.
● Deadlines are met, and errors and waste are eliminated through careful planning.
● Customers are confident in the finished work and proud of the completed space.
WHAT YOU BRING
● 3+ years of hands-on experience in custom cabinetry, millwork, or casework, including field installation.
● Skill with woodworking machinery and hand tools, including table saws, routers, drills and impacts, levels, and finishing equipment.
● Strong ability to read and work from shop drawings and installation plans.
● Exceptional attention to detail and a non-negotiable commitment to accuracy.
● Sound field judgment. You solve independently and know when to stop, ask, and escalate.
● Professional communication skills and a customer-first attitude.
● Valid California driver license with a clean driving record.
● Willingness to travel to installation sites across Southern California.
A STRONG PLUS
● 5+ years in premium residential or commercial cabinetry, millwork, or fine woodworking.
● Experience with CNC equipment, 32mm frameless (European) systems, and face frame construction.
● Familiarity with stone countertop coordination, templating, or integrated kitchen and bath installs.
● Trade certification, completed apprenticeship, or vocational training in cabinetmaking or carpentry.

Every team member lives our five values in daily practice.
● Integrity. Do what is right when no one is watching. Report errors early and never hide a mistake.
● Discipline. Hold the standard even when a shortcut looks faster.
● Accountability. Own outcomes end to end. Escalate early and stay with it until it is fully resolved.
● Teamwork. Share openly, support colleagues under pressure, and represent the company with one professional voice.
● Customer Centricity. Treat every customer, home, and project with care, dignity, and respect.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
● $24 to $30 per hour, based on experience and skill, with room for performance-based increases.

● Paid holidays, vacation, and sick leave (waiting periods apply).
