Kindergarten Teacher Position Overview

Golden Hills School seeks a dynamic and student-centered KindergartenTeacher to join our faculty. The ideal candidate will design and implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum that supports the academic, social-emotional, and physical growth of each child.

This role requires a passionate educator who fosters a love of learning, differentiates instruction to meet diverse needs, and builds strong partnerships with students, families, and colleagues. The Elementary Teacher will create an engaging, inclusive classroom environment and contribute positively to the broader school community.

Primary ResponsibilitiesInstruction & Curriculum

• Plan and implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum in reading/language arts, mathematics, and social studies for individuals, small groups, and the full classroom
• Promote a learner-centered approach that actively engages students in the learning process
• Foster growth in academic, social-emotional, and physical development
• Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students
• Utilize and integrate meaningful and appropriate technology into instruction
• Assess student learning and use data to inform instruction and support student growth

Classroom Environment & Student Engagement

• Build a positive, inclusive classroom environment where students feel supported and motivated
• Communicate with students in a respectful, encouraging, and developmentally appropriate manner
• Demonstrate strong classroom management and organizational skills
• Connect effectively with elementary-aged students and foster enthusiasm for learning

Collaboration & Communication

• Work collaboratively with colleagues, specialists, and administrators to develop curriculum and coordinate projects, field trips, and special programs
• Communicate clearly and consistently with parents through conferences, written reports, newsletters, and school-approved platforms
• Establish strong partnerships with families to support student success
• Maintain timely and professional communication with all members of the school community

Additional Responsibilities

The position may entail, but is not limited to:

• Plan, supervise, and implement curriculum as a core classroom teacher
• Participate in admissions events such as Open House, New Student Orientation, and applicant interviews
• Fulfill campus duties such as supervision, crosswalk duty, or other assigned responsibilities
• Attend staff meetings, Back-to-School Nights, and school events
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress and communication
• Follow and adhere to Golden Hills School policies and procedures
• Act in the best interests of Golden Hills School at all times
• Uphold and carry out the mission and values of Golden Hills School
• Engage in ongoing professional development and remain current in best practices
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Head of School

QualificationsEducation and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field required
• Teaching credential
• Minimum of two years of teaching experience at the elementary level or equivalent experience
• Strong content knowledge and pedagogical expertise

• Passion for working with elementary-aged children and their families
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills and commitment to a collaborative, inclusive school environment
• Demonstrated ability in classroom management and differentiated instruction

• Commitment to professional growth and continuous learning

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

• Ability to stand, walk, sit, and engage in active classroom supervision for extended periods
• Ability to lift and carry up to 10–30 pounds
• Ability to communicate effectively and supervise students in various settings, including classrooms, playgrounds, and field trips
• Ability to work in a dynamic environment with frequent interruptions and varying conditions

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary range: $53,236 – $77,552, commensurate with experience, 10 month position
