Summary of Job Functions:
Maintains awareness, understanding, and compliance with company's Code of Ethics, internal policies and procedures, and all applicable federal, state, and investor regulations. The Mortgage Licensing & Compliance Assistant supports the Compliance and Licensing Departments by assisting with mortgage loan originator (MLO) licensing, regulatory filings, audits, and ongoing compliance monitoring to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.
Essential Duties:
· Assist with the preparation, submission, and renewal of mortgage licenses for Loan Originators and the company through the Nationwide Multistate Licensing System (NMLS).
· Maintain accurate and up-to-date licensing records, including tracking renewal dates, continuing education requirements, and state-specific compliance obligations.
· Support compliance audits and examinations by gathering documentation, preparing reports, and responding to regulatory inquiries.
· HMDA data collection, review, and filing in the HDMA system.
· Monitor changes in federal and state mortgage regulations and assist in implementing required updates to policies and procedures.
· Ensure licensing and compliance documentation is accurately filed and retained in accordance with company policy and regulatory requirements.
· Communicate with internal departments, regulators, and third-party service providers regarding licensing and compliance matters.
· Assist with additional compliance-related projects and duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
· Associate’s Degree or equivalent work experience.
· Experience with the NMLS system, specifically MLO Licensing and Company multiple-state licensing
· Familiarity with federal and state mortgage regulations (including RESPA, TILA, SAFE Act).
· Strong written and verbal communication skills.
· Experience supporting audits or regulatory exams
