Job Description OpenShift Systems Administrator to support a large consulting client in the federal space, responsible for all telecommunications, cloud, data center, and network services across all facilities in the U.S. You will join the Specialized Services team directly supporting the Facilities and Real Estate Division — an organization with 13 centers across the U.S. that rely on the Maximo Application Suite to manage their facilities. In this role, you will serve as the OpenShift Systems Administrator responsible for administering, securing, and maintaining the on-premises Red Hat OpenShift container platform that hosts the MAS environment. This is a critical infrastructure role on a massive, long-term government program. Candidates must be able to obtain a Public Trust clearance prior to their start date. OPENSHIFT SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR REQUIREMENTS: 8+ years of experience administering Linux systems with 5+ years administering Red Hat OpenShift in an enterprise environment — including cluster management, patching, upgrades, break/fix support, and network and security configurations Extensive hands-on command-line and BASH scripting experience — Red Hat CoreOS and RHEL — as well as automation tooling including GitOps, Ansible, and Argo CD Experience utilizing Red Hat ACM and/or ACS for Kubernetes management — Red Hat Advanced Cluster Management and Advanced Cluster Security Must be able to obtain Public Trust clearance — government investigative background check with fingerprinting required Bachelor's degree required — proof must be provided PLUS SKILLS: Red Hat OpenShift Administration Certification Extensive experience with IBM Storage Fusion or OpenShift Data Foundation for software-defined storage solution containers Experience in a Maximo Application Suite environment Extensive Government and Federal agency experience — including a strong understanding of IT governance standards such as NIST and FISMA OPENSHIFT SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR RESPONSIBILITIES: Serve as the primary OpenShift administrator responsible for day-to-day cluster operations, patching, upgrades, and break/fix support across approximately 9–10 clusters Manage the on-premises OpenShift container platform including cluster health, node management, application deployments, pods, services, and resource policies Support backup and recovery operations including failover, disaster recovery, and ongoing operational reliability of OpenShift clusters hosting the Maximo Application Suites Administer IBM Storage Fusion and OpenShift Data Foundation for software-defined storage and data protection Implement and maintain monitoring and observability using Prometheus, Grafana, and Splunk log forwarding for proactive issue detection Perform system patching and vulnerability remediation — applying SSL/TLS configuration, certificate management, and security hardening across all platform components Implement and enforce zero-trust security requirements and ensure compliance for data in transit and at rest Work with networking and system administration teams to implement, optimize, and maintain hosting infrastructure — including DNS, load balancers, routing, and firewall rules Implement and maintain GitOps practices using Argo CD and Ansible for automation and controlled promotion of changes across dev, test, staging, and production environments Serve as the internal technical resource for MAS developers, application teams, and IT management
