Overview

Join our dynamic team as a Geotechnical Driller and play a vital role in advancing construction and engineering projects through precise and efficient drilling operations. In this energetic position, you'll operate specialized drilling equipment to extract soil and rock samples, support foundation investigations, and assist in site exploration activities. Duties

• Operate geotechnical drilling machinery such as rotary drills, hollow stem augers, and other heavy equipment with precision and adherence to safety standards
• Conduct site assessments by locating underground utilities using utility locating tools before drilling begins
• Maintain and perform routine inspections on construction machinery including excavators, dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, water trucks, dump trucks, and tankers to ensure optimal performance
• Follow federal construction safety regulations and company safety protocols during all operations to guarantee a secure work environment
• Assist with the setup of drilling sites, including positioning equipment and preparing materials for efficient workflow
• Support construction activities by operating heavy equipment like Caterpillar machinery (e.g., bulldozers, graders) and performing basic mechanical maintenance when necessary
• Collaborate with team members to coordinate tasks such as horizontal drilling and paving activities while adhering to project timelines

Skills

• Proven experience in construction site operations with a focus on geotechnical or heavy equipment drilling
• Strong knowledge of construction machinery maintenance and troubleshooting techniques
• Ability to operate various heavy equipment including excavators, dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, water trucks, dump trucks, tankers, and horizontal drilling rigs
• Familiarity with utility locating tools and techniques to prevent underground utility damage
• Solid understanding of federal construction safety regulations and general safety regulations applicable on job sites
• Valid commercial driver’s license with experience in commercial truck driving and safe vehicle operation
• Mechanical aptitude for maintaining and troubleshooting construction machinery such as Caterpillar equipment
• Experience working on diverse construction projects involving paving, water management, grading, or excavation tasks
• Excellent communication skills to coordinate effectively with team members and site supervisors

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
