Responsible for coordinating, developing, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating assigned marketing, advertising, and public relations projects across multiple platforms to engage target audiences. In-person work on campus is an essential function of this position.
Write and produce multi-media and audience-focused content across multiple channels. Provide strategic support to the Marketing & Community Relations Team for marketing, advertising, and public relations initiatives by applying expertise in social media, digital and traditional media, direct marketing, writing, event planning, and execution.
Develop, prepare, and execute engaging marketing, advertising, and public relations campaigns to enhance visibility, student recruitment, retention, and completion. Share the El Paso Community College story, promote the campus community, and develop content for internal and external stakeholders. Manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize to meet deadlines.
Write, edit, and proofread content in Associated Press (AP) Style for varied audiences across multiple platforms and communication styles, including social media, digital and traditional advertising, and digital ad copy. Conduct interviews and develop news and feature stories, press releases, media alerts, and other written communications. Collaborate with college departments, constituencies, and student organizations to produce high-impact content.
Create and publish content across social media, digital, print, and multimedia platforms, including designing and editing graphics, photos, and videos.
Organize, manage, and promote college events and activities. Collaborate with other departments to ensure successful marketing efforts. Train, advise, and deliver presentations to stakeholders on effective communication strategies to drive engagement with measurable outcomes.
Maintain and enforce brand standards, ensuring accessibility and compliance with copyright, legal, and college policies and procedures.
Leverage audience research and analysis to develop and improve future marketing strategies, campaigns, and student recruitment and retention efforts.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s Degree and four (4) years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience which demonstrates possession of the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
NOTE: A copy of the transcript reflecting this required education MUST be submitted for consideration and reflect completed coursework and degrees conferred. The candidate must be fully qualified for the position at the time of application.
2. Excellent skills in writing, editing, proofreading, oral communication, and project management.
3. Ability to create and edit photos and videos.
4. Strong ability to respond flexibly to changing marketing conditions, new technology, and emerging trends.
5. Experience establishing and maintaining cooperative and collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
6. Experience in research, statistics, and data analysis.
7. Proficient in Associated Press (AP) writing style.
8. Knowledge of all Microsoft Office Software and Adobe Creative Suite, and able to learn and use institutional software systems.
9. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
10. Strong strategic and creative thinking skills.
11. Ability to multi-task and oversee completion of assigned projects and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
12. Proficient in complying with college policies, procedures, applicable laws, and communication best practices.
Special Conditions:
1. This is a security-sensitive position as defined under the Texas Education Code, Section 51.215; the successful applicant will be required to undergo a criminal background check, as permitted and/or required by applicable law, and in accordance with the College’s policies and procedures.
2. Must be able to travel throughout the District and community.
3. Job will require working irregular hours including evenings and weekends.

Transcripts issued in a language other than English must be accompanied by a full translation (word for word) by a current member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES). Additionally, each foreign transcript must be evaluated for equivalency to United States accredited coursework.

Out-of-town candidates invited for an on-campus interview will be reimbursed for one-half of the transportation cost for travel performed within the United States. The College will arrange and pay for up to two nights lodging.
