Perform all activies in the safest manner possible. Working safely is an essential behavior.
Observe, dismantle, repair and/or remove defective parts to install replacement parts.
Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments. May require the use of hand tools, levels, and straight edges, use of rulers, calipers, micrometers or other measuring instruments.
Troubleshoot failures by examining parts to detect imperfections.
May set up and operate lathe, drill press, grinder or other metalworking tools to make and repair parts.
May initiate purchase order for parts and machines.
Perform welding tasks as necessary.
Know and comply with all OSHA and EPA regulations.
High School diploma or equivalent. Post-secondary training or certification from a technical school or other higher education is a plus.
Basic knowledge of electronic equipment and testing devices.
Basic knowledge of environmental regulations.
Good hand-eye coordination
Ability to read and interpret written instructions and repair manuals
Ability to follow complex instructions and use precision instruments.
May be asked to occasionally work anytime during a 24 hour day for emergency or planned downtime.
Provide own tools if required.
Minimum Job Experience Required:Minimum of 12-18 months of maintenance technician experience. Prior experience in automotive repair is a plus. Related work experience will be accepted in lieu of education requirement.
