United Aluminum Corporation, a specialty rolling mill in North Haven, CT, with unique rolling, annealing, and slitting capabilities, has produced Custom Rolled® Aluminum Coil since 1915. United Aluminum’s modern and clean facility is conveniently located off I-91 in North Haven, CT.

Our team is growing! We have an immediate opportunity for a Safety Manager to join our valued team in a state-of-the-art, ISO 9001: 2015 registered manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will have at least seven (7) years’ experience of heavy industrial manufacturing facility experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Leads, reports on, and further develops safety, ergonomic, and health programs throughout our facility.
• Maintains OSHA logs and safety data. Manages Workers Comp and accident investigations. Provides appropriate follow-up to ensure that actions are implemented to prevent injuries and reoccurrences.
• Conducts safety training, safety inspections, and safety meetings to ensure all required training is tracked and completed. Guides and promotes safe work practices by developing safety policies and procedures, campaigns, and communications.

EXPERIENCE / REQUIREMENTS

• Requires B.S. in Safety & Occupational Health or related field and 7+ years facility experience.
• Excellent follow-up, organizational, interpersonal, communication, and MS Office skills are required. Hands-on experience with good manufacturing practices (GMP), Industrial Engineering, machine/process design, CSP and/or Environmental a plus.
