Summary of Job Duties:

The Advanced Practice Nurse/Physician Assistant (APRN/PA) will be a vital member of the Urology Team at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS). This provider will assist physicians with clinic operations, organize patient visits, and perform clinic procedures. They will also serve as a high-level clinical extender, working both independently and collaboratively with supervising physicians to manage patient care across inpatient and outpatient settings. The APRN/PA will perform clinical assessments, assist with care coordination, answer MyChart and in-basket messages, respond to patient questions and phone calls, and manage prescriptions. In the outpatient clinic, they will see new and follow up patients and follow up on pathology and imaging, and ensure patients receive comprehensive education and appropriate follow-up. The provider must possess a high level of clinical expertise to assess, diagnose, and treat actual and potential problems in patients. The APRN/PA will serve as a key communicator between the care team and patients, ensuring timely, complete, and accurate information sharing.
