Job Summary
We are looking for experienced Computational Physics Experts to contribute to AI training and evaluation initiatives by applying advanced scientific and computational expertise. In this role, you will help train next-generation AI systems by solving complex physics problems, evaluating scientific reasoning, and contributing high-quality technical insights across computational and simulation-based domains.
This is an hourly-paid contract opportunity, not a traditional research position. Contributors will work on project-based AI training and evaluation tasks designed to improve how AI systems understand computational physics, numerical methods, scientific modeling, and quantitative reasoning.
No prior AI experience is required. What matters most is your expertise in computational physics, scientific computing, and advanced analytical problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities
- Apply expertise in computational physics to support AI training, benchmarking, and evaluation projects.
- Analyze, interpret, and synthesize complex scientific datasets, simulations, and experimental results.
- Develop, review, and refine computational models, numerical simulations, and scientific workflows.
- Evaluate AI-generated scientific solutions for technical accuracy, mathematical correctness, and physical validity.
- Apply advanced numerical methods, computational techniques, and quantitative analysis to challenging physics problems.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to improve AI reasoning across scientific and engineering domains.
- Clearly document methodologies, assumptions, and technical findings in written form.
- Maintain rigorous scientific standards and ensure the accuracy, reproducibility, and integrity of project deliverables.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- PhD in Physics or a closely related discipline, or equivalent research or industry experience.
- Strong expertise in computational physics, scientific computing, or simulation-driven research.
- Proficiency in Python, C++, MATLAB, and scientific computing tools such as ROOT or similar frameworks.
- Experience with numerical simulations, Monte Carlo methods, high-performance computing (HPC), or related computational workflows.
- Strong mathematical, analytical, and quantitative reasoning skills.
- Experience analyzing experimental or scientific datasets.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex scientific concepts clearly.
- Ability to work independently in a remote, collaborative environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Research background in particle physics, astrophysics, plasma physics, fusion energy, quantum systems, or related fields.
- Experience with AI, machine learning, scientific benchmarking, or AI evaluation projects.
- Track record of peer-reviewed publications or significant scientific research contributions.
- Experience with scientific visualization, numerical optimization, or large-scale computational workflows.
- Familiarity with modern software development practices and version control tools.
