Operations Electrical Technician

The Operations Electrical Technician is responsible for the installation, wiring, troubleshooting, testing, and repair of electrical systems used in the assembly of CNC machine tools and waterjet equipment. The ideal candidate possesses strong electrical aptitude, excellent troubleshooting skills, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, wire, and connect electrical components, control panels, PLC systems, drives, and related equipment on CNC and waterjet machines.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and technical documentation to ensure accurate machine assembly.
• Route, terminate, and label wiring according to company standards and applicable electrical codes.
• Verify proper operation of electrical systems during machine build and commissioning processes.
• Diagnose and resolve electrical issues on CNC and waterjet equipment during assembly, testing, and production.
• Utilize diagnostic tools, including multimeters, megohmmeters, and other electrical testing equipment, to identify faults and verify repairs.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Applications personnel to resolve complex electrical and control system issues.
• Document troubleshooting activities, repairs, and corrective actions as required.
• Follow all company safety policies, electrical safety procedures, and OSHA requirements.
• Ensure all electrical work complies with applicable codes, standards, and company quality requirements.
• Work closely with Engineering, Assembly, Service, and Operations teams to meet production schedules and project deadlines.
• Communicate project status, technical concerns, and improvement opportunities to supervisors and team members.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives related to machine quality, assembly efficiency, and electrical processes.
• Stay current with advancements in industrial controls, CNC technologies, electrical systems, and industry best practices.
• Participate in training opportunities to enhance technical knowledge and skills.
• Adhere to Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate degree, technical certification, or vocational training in Electrical Technology, Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in industrial electrical assembly, machine building, manufacturing, or related electrical environments preferred.

Skills and Competencies

• Strong understanding of industrial electrical systems, controls, and wiring practices.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
• Experience with PLC-controlled equipment, VFDs, servo systems, and industrial control panels preferred.
• Proficiency using electrical testing and diagnostic equipment.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a team.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and work in manufacturing environments for extended periods.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and electrical testing equipment

Work Environment

• Manufacturing and shop-floor environment with exposure to machinery, tools, noise, and varying temperatures.

Pay: $22.00 - $29.00 per hour
