Role Title: Sr Java Developer

Location: Rockville, MD 20857 - Hybrid

Clearance: US Citizenship

Pay: $125/hr on 6-month+ contract

Overview

We are seeking a Senior Java Developer to join our team to create innovative, high-performance solutions for our grants management platform. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in core Java enterprise development, system architecture, and a forward-thinking mindset focused on leveraging modern AI development tools and designing AI-driven application features.

Duties/Responsibilities

Core Application Development: Design, develop, and implement robust, scalable, and secure custom features and modules within our enterprise Java-based grants management systems.

AI-Driven Engineering: Leverage modern AI tools, LLMs, and coding agents (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or similar tools) to accelerate development workflows, optimize code generation, and automate testing.

Collaboration & Requirements: Work closely with business analysts, grant domain experts, and stakeholders to translate complex grant tracking and funding requirements into technical blueprints.

Mentorship & Code Quality: Provide guidance and mentorship to mid-level and junior developers, conduct comprehensive code reviews, and establish best practices for AI-assisted coding to ensure high-quality, secure deliverables.

Experience and Requirements –

7+ yrs Java Enterprise Development (System Architecture, Data Design)

3+ yrs Ai coding tool familiarity

Skills – Expert Core Java, J2EE, SQL, RESTful, Spring Boot, Bootstrap, Angular

Pay: $125.00 per hour

Experience:

• Java: 7 years (Required)
• Ai tools: 3 years (Required)
