About the Role

As a Clinical Oncology Pharmacist, you will serve as a trusted clinical resource to physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, and pharmacy teams across our affiliated oncology practices. You will play a critical role in ensuring the safe, effective, and evidence-based use of oncology medications while helping develop standardized clinical practices that improve patient outcomes throughout our network.

This position combines direct clinical pharmacy responsibilities with opportunities to participate in quality improvement initiatives, pharmacy program development, medication safety, clinical research support, and implementation of emerging cancer therapies. You will work alongside nationally recognized oncology specialists while helping community practices deliver the same level of pharmaceutical care found at leading academic medical centers.

What You'll Do

As a member of our multidisciplinary oncology team, you will provide comprehensive clinical pharmacy services that support every stage of the patient's cancer treatment journey. You will review chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapy, hormonal therapy, supportive care, and investigational treatment regimens to ensure they are clinically appropriate, evidence-based, and tailored to each patient's individual needs.

Working closely with physicians and advanced practice providers, you will evaluate treatment plans for appropriate dosing, organ function, laboratory values, performance status, drug interactions, cumulative toxicity, pharmacogenomic considerations, and adherence to current NCCN Guidelines, ASCO recommendations, FDA-approved labeling, and institutional protocols.

You will actively monitor patient response to therapy, identify opportunities to optimize medication regimens, recommend evidence-based interventions, and help prevent medication-related complications before they occur. Your clinical expertise will directly contribute to improving treatment outcomes while promoting the highest standards of medication safety.

Patient education is an essential part of this role. You'll counsel patients and caregivers on chemotherapy, oral oncology medications, immunotherapy, supportive care medications, adverse effect management, medication adherence, safe handling practices, and treatment expectations. By partnering with nursing, navigation, financial counseling, and care management teams, you'll help ensure patients understand their treatment plans and have access to the medications they need.

In addition to direct patient care, you'll contribute to the development of standardized treatment pathways, clinical policies, and medication use guidelines that support consistency across our affiliated practices while respecting physician autonomy and individualized patient care.

Pharmacy Operations & Clinical Excellence

Beyond direct clinical responsibilities, you'll play an important role in strengthening pharmacy operations throughout the CCS MSO network. You'll collaborate with pharmacy leadership to promote best practices in sterile compounding, hazardous drug handling, inventory management, medication safety, and workflow optimization.

You'll support compliance with USP <797>, USP <800>, state and federal pharmacy regulations, ACHC accreditation standards, REMS requirements, and organizational quality initiatives. Your expertise will help ensure every affiliated practice maintains the highest standards of pharmaceutical care while continuously improving operational efficiency and patient safety.

You'll also participate in evaluating new pharmacy technologies, automation platforms, electronic medical record enhancements, and clinical decision support tools that improve workflow and reduce medication-related risk.

Innovation in Cancer Care

Cancer treatment is evolving rapidly, and you'll have the opportunity to help bring the latest advances in oncology into community practice. Working with physician leaders and multidisciplinary teams, you'll support the implementation and optimization of advanced therapies including CAR-T cell therapy, bispecific antibodies (BiTEs), antibody-drug conjugates, radioligand therapy, precision oncology, molecular diagnostics, and other emerging treatments.

You'll collaborate on clinical research initiatives, assist with protocol development, evaluate newly approved therapies, and help translate the latest scientific evidence into everyday clinical practice. Your contributions will help ensure patients have access to innovative treatments without leaving their local communities.

What We're Looking For

We're seeking a clinically driven pharmacist who is passionate about oncology and committed to delivering exceptional patient care.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an ACPE-accredited institution.
• Active pharmacist license in good standing or eligibility for licensure.
• Experience in oncology pharmacy practice, including chemotherapy review, preparation, and medication management.
• Strong understanding of oncology pharmacotherapy, supportive care, hazardous drug handling, and evidence-based treatment guidelines.
• Experience with sterile compounding, infusion pharmacy, specialty pharmacy, or ambulatory oncology practice.
• Proficiency using pharmacy information systems, electronic medical records, and clinical decision support tools.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate patients and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
• A commitment to continuous learning and staying current with advances in oncology therapeutics.

Preferred Qualifications

Preference will be given to candidates with:

• Board Certified Oncology Pharmacist (BCOP) certification.
• Completion of a PGY1 Pharmacy Residency and/or PGY2 Oncology Residency.
• Experience with clinical research, investigational drug services, or precision oncology programs.
• Knowledge of CAR-T therapy, radioligand therapy, bispecific antibodies, specialty pharmacy operations, or oral oncology programs.
• Experience supporting multiple practice locations or health system pharmacy operations.

Pay: $72.50 - $87.75 per hour
