Key Responsibilities May include but are not limited to:
POSITION
The Project Manager serves as the senior operational and financial leader of an assigned department. This role holds full accountability for departmental performance, including customer experience, estimating accuracy, financial forecasting, margin protection, operational execution, and leadership development.
This position operates with a high level of autonomy and strategic responsibility to independently leads their department as a business unit, ensuring performance standards, financial health, and customer satisfaction are consistently achieved. The PM is ultimately responsible for protecting company reputation, profitability, and operational excellence within their department.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Departmental Leadership & Operational Oversight

Lead and oversee all projects within the assigned department.

Establish department production goals and performance expectations.

Ensure alignment between scheduling, crew allocation, and customer commitments.

Monitor department workload and capacity planning.

Identify operational inefficiencies and implement process improvements.
PM operates at the department level, not just project level.
Customer Experience Ownership

Hold ultimate responsibility for customer experience across the department.

Ensure proactive communication, transparency, and responsiveness across all projects.

Support resolution of escalated customer concerns.
-
Protect long-term client relationships and drive repeat business opportunities.

Ensure consistency in service delivery standards across all CMs and below.
At the PM level, customer experience is strategic, not reactive.
Estimating, Financial Management & Forecasting

Oversee and approve departmental project estimates and bid strategies.

Ensure estimating accuracy aligns with historical data and margin goals.
-
Maintain full ownership of departmental budgeting and forecasting.

Conduct monthly financial reviews and margin analysis.
-
Monitor revenue projections, cost trends, and labor efficiency metrics.

Identify financial risks and implement corrective action strategies.
-
Ensure change orders are properly identified, documented, and recovered.

Provide market-level financial updates and variance explanations.
PM owns departmental financial performance.
Financial Strategy & Growth Support

Analyze backlog and pipeline for revenue planning.

Support business development initiatives through estimating input and feasibility analysis.

Assist Market Directors in strategic planning discussions.
-
Identify expansion opportunities within department scope.
-
Contribute to long-term forecasting and resource planning.
Compliance & Risk Management

Ensure departmental compliance with safety, licensing, insurance, and contractual obligations.

Partner with Accounting, Fleet, HR, and Safety departments to mitigate risk.

Maintain structured documentation and audit readiness.
-
Ensure discipline in progressive corrective action processes.

Operate with company-first decision-making.

Support company-wide initiatives and operational standards.

Reinforce culture, professionalism, and cross-market consistency.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBLITIES
- Direct Supervision: Construction Managers and Project Coordinators

Establishing leadership standards within the department.

Conducting performance reviews and compensation recommendations.

Coaching Associate PM leaders in financial and customer ownership.

Developing succession plans for CM and PM pipelines.

Ensuring accountability systems are consistent and documented.

Reinforcing company policies and leadership expectations.
PM builds leaders, not just projects.
DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
- This position operates at professional construction sites and in professional office environments, requiring the uses of standard office equipment, the ability to communicate verbally with others on site, in person and over the telephone, ability to read printed materials, signs, computer screens and directions, stamina to maintain attention to details despite interruptions, ability to lift, climb with, push, pull, carry, handle or feel objects, supplies, tools, machinery and/or controls weighing up to 50 pounds and reach with hands and arms; climb stairs, ladders and/or towers; balance, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, lift overhead, traverse around sites, in the air, or otherwise position one's self around the required work and safety requirements to navigating and perform activities on various construction sites in a safe manner.

Will be required to work on project sites and operate vehicles, trailers, machinery, equipment, and other tools within local, state, and federal safety guidelines.

Will be required to work outside, frequently for extended periods of time in all weather, including extreme hot and cold temperatures.

While working, the employee might be exposed to various chemicals, vapors, pollutants, virus or other air-borne pathogens, gases, uneven surfaces, loud noises, moving vehicles or machines and dust/debris.
EXPECTED POSITION HOURS
- This is a full-time, in office position.
- Must be able to work weekends, overnight, out of the market or away from home and willingness to travel overnight as work demands.
- Willingness to work and support extended hours during high-volume or critical phases.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education and Work Experience
- A high school diploma or GED is required.

Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or related field preferred.
-
Advanced education or equivalent industry leadership experience may be considered.

Minimum of eight (8) to twelve (12) years of progressive experience in construction, telecommunications, or related project-based industry.

Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years in Project Management leadership role.
-
Demonstrated success managing department-level financial performance.
-
Proven experience leading managers (PCs, CMs, etc.).

Strong background in estimating, forecasting, and margin protection.

Experience managing customer relationships at a senior level.
-
Experience contributing to strategic planning and business growth initiatives.
Skills and Abilities

Certifications, Licenses, and other Requirements

Minimum age of 21 years old.

Mandatory possession of a current valid Driver’s License.
- Clear Motor Vehicle Record (MVR). Ability to be covered by company auto Insurance.

Successful completion and clearance of a pre-employment drug screen, DOT physical, and background check.
