Primary Responsibilities
· Long-Form & Short-Form Writing: Research, write, and edit engaging health and science content for the Lifespan Magazine and media platform for a general audience, including feature articles, breaking news, interviews, and other content about longevity, health, biotech, and related topics
· Multi-Platform Content Development: Create health and science content in multiple formats, including magazine articles, website articles, and newsletters
· Editorial Operations: Support editorial planning, content calendars, source organization, citation management, and publication workflows across the magazine and media platform
Minimum Qualifications
· Science Writing Skills & Portfolio: Demonstrating exceptional writing, editing, storytelling, research, and communication skills across long-form and short-form content
· Interest & Passion: For health and longevity science, and their applicability.
· Research & Editorial Skills: Proficiency with research, fact-checking, source evaluation, citation management, and editorial workflows
· Productivity Tools: Proficiency with Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and AI tools
· Growth Mindset: Interest in evolving with a growing organization with opportunity for creativity, leadership, and impact; highly motivated and thrives in a fast-paced, high-performance environment
Preferred Qualifications
· Professional Experience: 2 to 10+ years experience in health, science, medical, or related writing, journalism, editing, and content development
· Advanced Scientific Training: Ph.D., M.D., Master’s degree, or equivalent advanced training in biology, medicine, health sciences, public health, or a related field
· Formal Writing Training: Training in writing, journalism, science communication, narrative medicine, creative nonfiction, communications, or a related discipline
· Longevity & Health Experience: Demonstrated knowledge of longevity science, the biology of aging, preventive health, nutrition, exercise science, and related disciplines
· Science Writing & Journalism Experience: Demonstrated experience writing, editing, or reporting for science, health, biotechnology, medical, or mainstream media publications
About Professor Sinclair
David A. Sinclair, A.O., Ph.D. is considered one of the world’s most influential scientists and a leading figure in the study of human longevity. He is a Professor of Genetics at Harvard Medical School and Founder of Lifespan. Professor Sinclair’s pioneering work in genetics and aging biology has fundamentally shaped the world’s understanding of mechanisms of aging and age-related diseases.
