We are looking for a motivated, energetic Industrial Outside Sales Representative to manage and grow our territory out of our Columbus or Galion branches.

What You’ll Do (Key Responsibilities):
As an Outside Sales Representative, you will be the face of O.E. Meyer Co. to our local customers, managing existing accounts while aggressively prospecting for new business.
- Territory Management: Plan and execute frequent local travel to visit regular and prospective customer accounts.
- Consultative Sales: Deliver excellent customer service by matching clients with the right welding equipment, industrial/specialty gases, and hardgoods.
- Demonstrations & Proposals: Showcase product capabilities (using samples or catalogs) and prepare comprehensive sales proposals, quotes, and delivery timelines.
- Collaboration: Partner with our inside sales teams and route delivery drivers to ensure customer accounts are serviced seamlessly.
- Market Strategy: Keep a pulse on the local market (pricing, competitor products, and industry trends) and report insights to the Sales Manager.
- Account Support: Assist with outstanding account balances (A/R tracking), resolve customer technical or delivery issues, and participate in local trade shows or inside sales support as needed.
What We Are Looking For (Qualifications):
- Education: College graduate (preferred, or equivalent professional sales experience).
- Industry Experience: Experience in welding, compressed gases, safety, or industrial distribution is highly preferred, but we will train the right motivated professional.
- Key Traits: A self-starter who is highly motivated, organized, and capable of working independently to hit goals.
- Skills: Strong communication, active listening, solid math/computer skills, and a professional, consultative selling approach.
- Requirements: A clean driving record (no DUI/DWI or other alcohol-related driving convictions within the last 10 years).
