Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Dog Groomer to join our veterinary and pet care team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care, excellent grooming skills, and the ability to handle dogs of all temperaments. This role involves providing professional grooming services, ensuring pet safety, and delivering exceptional customer service to pet owners. Experience in animal handling and pet grooming is essential, along with a strong understanding of animal behavior and restraint techniques. The Dog Groomer will play a vital role in maintaining the health and appearance of our clients’ pets while fostering a positive environment for animals and their owners.

Duties

• Perform grooming services including bathing, trimming, styling, and nail clipping for dogs of various breeds and sizes
• Handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques to ensure their comfort and safety during grooming procedures
• Assess each pet’s condition and communicate any health concerns or behavioral issues to the veterinary team or pet owners
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of grooming tools, stations, and equipment in accordance with health standards
• Provide excellent customer service by discussing grooming preferences with pet owners and offering advice on pet care and maintenance
• Assist with pet handling during appointments, ensuring animals are calm and comfortable throughout the process
• Support other team members with animal care duties such as feeding, walking, or kennel cleaning as needed
• Adhere to safety protocols at all times to prevent injury to pets or staff

Experience

• Prior experience in pet grooming is highly preferred, with knowledge of breed-specific cuts and styling techniques
• Experience in dog training or veterinary settings (veterinary technician or assistant experience) is a plus
• Strong animal handling skills, including animal restraint and pet care techniques
• Background in veterinary or animal care fields such as kennel experience, veterinary technician experience, or equine experience is advantageous
• Customer service experience is beneficial for effectively communicating with pet owners
• Ability to lift heavy loads (heavy lifting) when necessary for equipment or supplies
• Familiarity with pet sitting, animal handling, and general animal care practices is desirable

Pay: $942.79 - $1,135.40 per week
