Test Kitchen/Lab Coordinator (R&D)– Contract – 100% Onsite in Bloomington, MN

We are assisting our client with an R&D Lab Support Specialist opportunity in Bloomington, MN. This role supports daily operations within a Research & Development test kitchen by maintaining organization, managing incoming materials, supporting product development activities, and ensuring the lab environment is clean, stocked, and ready for testing and demonstrations.
The ideal candidate will have experience working in a restaurant, commercial kitchen, warehouse, food manufacturing, or similar hands-on environment. This person should be dependable, detail-oriented, approachable, and comfortable managing changing priorities while supporting a busy R&D team. The successful candidate will be able to think on their feet, communicate effectively, maintain strong attention to detail, and provide excellent support to internal lab users.

- Contract Opportunity (approximately 8 weeks with potential for extension)
- 100% Onsite in Bloomington, MN
- Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
- Pay: $25–$28/hour
- Must be able to start ASAP
- Background check required prior to start
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked R&D test kitchen and laboratory environment.
- Receive, track, and organize incoming packages, ingredients, and supplies.
- Properly store materials in freezer, refrigerator, and dry storage areas.
- Maintain inventory organization and identify supply needs.
- Assist with keeping storage areas organized and ensuring materials are easily accessible.
- Support daily requests from R&D and Product Development teams.
- Clean dishes, utensils, equipment, and general lab areas to maintain operational standards.
- Assist with setup and cleanup for taste testing, food demonstrations, product evaluations, and other R&D activities.
- Prepare workspaces and ensure supplies are available for testing events and product demonstrations.
- Support basic setup, cleaning, and maintenance of kitchen equipment such as soft serve and beverage machines (training provided).
- Follow food safety practices and maintain cleanliness standards within the test kitchen.
- Provide general operational support to keep the R&D lab running efficiently.
Minimum Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous restaurant, food service, commercial kitchen, or food manufacturing experience required.
- Experience with inventory, warehouse operations, receiving, or cold storage preferred.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organization skills.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and adapt to changing needs.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a friendly and helpful approach when supporting internal teams.
- Basic computer skills required.
- Ability to follow food safety practices and maintain cleanliness standards.
- Comfortable working in an R&D test kitchen environment and learning new processes and equipment.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and remain on your feet for the majority of the workday.
- Frequent walking, bending, reaching overhead, and moving materials throughout the lab environment.
- Ability to occasionally lift and carry 30–50 lbs.
- Comfortable performing hands-on tasks requiring physical activity throughout the day.
- Ability to move deliveries using carts or dollies.
- Comfortable working in freezer, refrigerator, and kitchen environments.
- Must be able to wear required food safety attire, including a hairnet and closed-toe shoes.
