Charter Construction is a full-package concrete contractor that operates primarily in Middle Tennessee, working on a large variety of concrete-framed commercial structures. Charter is currently seeking a highly skilled Quality Control Manager to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Quality Control Oversight:
• Be proficient in construction plan reading
• Conduct inspections of the elements of structural items including reinforcing steel, post-tension tendons, embeds, and various types of anchoring systems.
• Conduct on-site inspections of structural item dimensions as details in the contract drawings.
• Ensure proper storage, handling, and usage of material (e.g., cements, epoxy, etc.)
• Ensure that the correct approved concrete mixes are being placed on the job.
• Be knowledgeable in regards to the specifications that apply to various aspects of the job.
• Documentation and Reporting:
• Maintain detailed records and photos of all quality control tests, inspections, and findings.
• Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and project-specific quality reports.
• Review and approve concrete mix designs and verify batch tickets.
• Maintain Certificates of Compliance (COCs), equipment calibration data and other documentation for regulatory compliance.
• Team Coordination and Training:
• Work closely with project managers, engineers, contractors, and subcontractors to resolve quality issues.
• Participate in pre-construction and progress meetings to address quality objectives.
• Maintain a positive, helpful, and friendly attitude in all job site situations.
• Regulatory Compliance and Audits:
• Ensure adherence to local, state, and federal regulations, as well as applicable standards (e.g., ACI, ASTM, AASHTO).
• Support third-party inspections and audits, and respond to non-conformance reports (NCRs).
• Conduct internal audits and root cause analyses to identify and mitigate quality risks.

Qualifications:

• Education:
• Associate's Degree in construction-related fields.
• Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
• Experience:
• 5+ years of experience in concrete quality control or construction quality assurance.
• Experience with large-scale concrete construction projects is highly desirable.
• Certifications (preferred or required):
• PRI Post- Tension Levels 1 & 2
• OSHA 10-hours Construction Safety Certification
• OSHA 30-hour Construction Safety Certification
