Position Overview

The Second Shift Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all manufacturing operations during the second shift, ensuring production goals, quality standards, and safety requirements are consistently achieved. This role provides direct leadership to production employees and temporary staff, coordinates daily production activities, resolves routine operational issues, and ensures equipment, personnel, and resources are utilized efficiently. The supervisor also serves as the primary on-site leader during the shift, maintaining facility security, responding to emergencies, and ensuring effective communication with first shift leadership through accurate reporting and shift handoffs.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and lead second shift production employees and temporary staff.
• Execute the daily production schedule established by first shift leadership.
• Assign work, monitor productivity, and coach employees to meet production, quality, and safety expectations.
• Ensure production equipment operates safely and efficiently while minimizing downtime.
• Perform basic equipment troubleshooting and coordinate maintenance support when necessary.
• Resolve routine production, personnel, quality, and equipment issues using independent judgment and escalate significant concerns as appropriate.
• Verify production documentation, inventory transactions, and shift reports for accuracy and completeness.
• Safely operate forklifts to move raw materials, finished goods, and production supplies as required.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with company policies and safety standards.
• Serve as the designated supervisor during emergencies by coordinating response efforts, employee evacuations, incident reporting, and communication with emergency responders.
• Secure the facility at the end of each shift by ensuring employees have exited, production areas are safe, doors are secured, and alarms are activated.
• Prepare detailed shift turnover reports summarizing production performance, downtime, quality concerns, staffing issues, maintenance needs, and corrective actions taken.
• Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.

Pay: $26.00 - $27.00 per hour
