Job Title: Logistics Coordinator
Location: Oak Creek, WI (On-Site)
Schedule: 9:00 PM – 9:00 AM, 12-hour overnight shifts including weekends
About the Role
We are looking for a dependable and safety-focused Logistics Coordinator to support our overnight operations in Oak Creek, WI. This on-site role is essential to maintaining safe, compliant, and efficient freight movement. The ideal candidate is highly organized, communicates clearly, and works effectively with drivers, customer employees, and internal teams to ensure timely and accurate shipment flow. While the position does not involve heavy lifting, it does require significant physical activity, including extensive walking throughout your assigned shift.
Key Responsibilities
· Safely coordinate the placement, staging, and movement of trailers and trucks throughout the facility, ensuring all yard operations meet company and federal safety standards.
· Work in lockstep with drivers and customer employees to ensure on-time loading, dispatch, and pick-up of all dedicated freight.
· Maintain strict adherence to safety protocols, including proper PPE use, yard safety rules, and equipment operation guidelines.
· Monitor freight schedules and proactively adjust plans while ensuring compliance with operational procedures and transportation regulations.
· Keep accurate, compliant records of trailer movements, load times, and shift activity logs.
· Identify and escalate any safety hazards or compliance concerns immediately to leadership.
· Support a culture of safety by ensuring all parties on-site are following established processes and protocols.
· Serve as an on-site point of contact for all overnight transportation and freight-related matters.
Qualifications
· Proactive, organized, and self-motivated; able to remain focused during overnight shifts, take initiative, and confidently coordinate yard activities under pressure.
· Strong commitment to safety, regulatory compliance, and process accuracy.
· Calm, dependable, and solutions-oriented personality with strong interpersonal skills; able to communicate clearly and work effectively with drivers, customer employees, and internal teams in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment.
· Ability to make quick, informed decisions while maintaining a safe and organized yard.
· Basic computer skills for tracking systems, logs, and communication tools.
