The Liberty County Chamber of Commerce & Convention & Visitors Bureau is looking for an organized, dependable, and customer-focused professional to join our team. This position plays a key role in keeping our office running smoothly while helping support community events, local businesses, tourism initiatives, and Chamber programs.

What You'll Do
Every day looks a little different, but responsibilities include:
Administrative Operations
- Serve as the first point of contact for members and visitors
- Answer phones, emails, and greet guests professionally
- Maintain digital and paper filing systems
- Process mail, deposits, invoices, and office paperwork
- Coordinate calendars, meeting materials, and office schedules
- Order office supplies and maintain inventory
- Use a personal vehicle to complete occasional local errands, including bank deposits, supply purchases, event pickups, and other business-related tasks as assigned.
Membership Support
- Process new member applications
- Prepare welcome packets
- Maintain membership records
- Assist with renewals and member communications
- Support Board and committee meetings
Events & Community Engagement
Help coordinate more than 40 Chamber and community events each year, including:
- Business After Hours
- Ribbon Cuttings
- Luncheons
- Festivals
- Networking events
- Annual community celebrations
Responsibilities include:
- Event setup and breakdown
- Registration and guest check-in
- RSVP management
- Supply preparation
- Vendor coordination
- Attending occasional evening and weekend events
Office & Facility Support
- Help maintain a clean, welcoming office
- Coordinate routine facility needs
- Assist with meeting room preparation
- Complete general administrative projects as assigned

Successful employees on our team take initiative, communicate clearly, and follow through on commitments. You are expected to successfully complete a structured 90-day training program before transitioning to greater independence. Applicants should be comfortable managing multiple deadlines, adapting to changing priorities, and communicating proactively when questions or challenges arise.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid driver's license, reliable personal vehicle, and current automobile insurance
- Ability and willingness to use a personal vehicle to complete occasional work-related errands during business hours (mileage reimbursement provided in accordance with organizational policy).
- Ability to lift 50 lbs occasionally
- Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors during events
- Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Office or similar)
Preferred
- 2+ years of administrative experience
- Customer service experience
- Event coordination experience
- Experience with databases or CRM software
Schedule
- Monday-Friday
- 8-hour shifts
- Most work is performed Monday through Friday during regular business hours. Occasional evening and weekend work is required for Chamber events; advance notice is provided whenever possible.
