Duties

• Safely operate trucks with manual transmissions and various trailer types including refrigerated, flatbed, tanker, dump truck, roll-off, and tractor-trailers.
• Load and unload freight accurately using appropriate equipment such as forklifts when necessary.
• Drive assigned routes efficiently while adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with company policies.
• Manage documentation related to deliveries, including route logs, delivery receipts, and incident reports.
• Maintain communication with dispatchers regarding route updates, delivery schedules, and any issues encountered during transit.
• Assist with securing loads properly for transport and ensuring cargo integrity throughout the journey.

Skills

• Proven experience in truck driving with a focus on delivery routes and freight transportation.
• Proficiency in operating manual transmission trucks and handling various trailer types such as refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks.
• Strong knowledge of commercial driving regulations and safety standards.
• Ability to load & unload freight efficiently using forklifts or manual methods when required.
• Excellent route planning skills to optimize delivery schedules and minimize delays.
• Physical stamina for long hours of driving and handling heavy cargo.
