About the Role
We are seeking an exceptional Chief Marketing Officer to lead our marketing organization during an exciting period of growth and scale. This is a rare opportunity to join an established, profitable manufacturing and distribution company that is accelerating its expansion — and to shape both how we go to market and how we build our products.
Our ideal CMO is a strategic operator who sits at the intersection of marketing and product: someone who can craft compelling brand narratives, own the product roadmap, and translate deep customer insight into differentiated offerings. You will be a key member of the executive team, reporting directly to the CEO and partnering closely with Sales, Operations, and Engineering.
Key ResponsibilitiesMarketing Strategy & Brand Leadership
- Define and drive the company’s overall marketing strategy, positioning, and brand narrative across all channels and audiences.
- Build and scale integrated marketing programs spanning digital, content, trade, and field marketing.
- Lead demand generation and pipeline development in close partnership with the sales organization.
- Oversee external communications, public relations, and industry presence.
Product Management & Roadmap Ownership
- Own the product roadmap end-to-end — setting priorities, defining requirements, and partnering with engineering and operations to bring new products to market.
- Bridge the marketing and product teams, ensuring that market intelligence, competitive dynamics, and customer feedback directly inform product direction.
- Define product positioning, packaging, and pricing strategy for new and existing product lines.
- Establish and manage a structured product development lifecycle that balances speed with quality.
Go-to-Market Execution
- Lead go-to-market strategy and execution for new product launches, including segmentation, channel strategy, launch sequencing, and sales enablement.
- Develop and own the playbooks that translate product capabilities into sales tools, customer messaging, and competitive differentiation.
- Partner with distribution and channel partners to ensure consistent market activation at scale.
Customer & Market Intelligence
- Build a systematic capability for gathering, synthesizing, and acting on customer insights — from voice-of-customer programs to market research to win/loss analysis.
- Drive customer insights deep into product development, ensuring the roadmap reflects real market needs rather than internal assumptions.
- Monitor competitive landscape and industry trends, providing executive team with timely strategic perspective.
Team & Organization Leadership
- Develop, and lead a high-performing marketing and product management team.
- Build the organizational structure, processes, and systems to support a scaling go-to-market engine.
- Establish clear KPIs, reporting cadences, and accountability frameworks across the function.
- Serve as an executive sponsor for major customer and partner relationships.
QualificationsRequired
- 10+ years of senior marketing leadership experience, with at least 3 years at the VP or C-suite level.
- Proven track record in a product management role or as a marketing leader with direct product ownership — you have shipped products, not just marketed them.
- Experience in manufacturing, distribution, industrials, or adjacent industries preferred; deep understanding of physical product businesses required.
- Demonstrated success leading both brand/demand marketing and product functions simultaneously.
- Strong analytical orientation — you use data to inform strategy and are comfortable with P&L accountability.
- Track record of cross-functional influence; you have operated as a true peer to Sales, Operations, and Finance leaders.
Preferred
- Experience scaling a company through a growth inflection — $50M to $200M+ revenue or equivalent organizational complexity.
- Familiarity with channel and distribution-led go-to-market models.
- Background in product-led growth, SKU rationalization, or portfolio management.
- MBA or equivalent advanced degree.
