Position Summary: We are currently seeking a knowledgeable and motivated HVAC-R Technician Instructor to join our Nashville Airport campus instructional team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration (HVAC-R), with teaching or training experience—especially in distance learning formats. This role will involve both classroom and lab instruction, curriculum delivery, student assessment, and engagement in a hybrid learning model that includes in-person and virtual instruction.

Key Responsibilities

• Instruct and mentor students in HVAC-R concepts, troubleshooting, safety protocols, and hands-on skills in alignment with program curriculum and industry standards.
• Deliver lessons in a hybrid format (classroom, lab, online modules, and virtual simulations).
• Utilize distance education technologies (e.g., Moodle, Zoom, Canvas, Interplay Learning) to deliver and assess online instruction.
• Evaluate student performance and provide timely, constructive feedback.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student progress.
• Collaborate with the education department to continually improve the program.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards.
• Support student success and retention by fostering a supportive, professional learning environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of hands-on HVAC-R experience (field or shop).
• Strong computer skills to deliver online theory coursework
• Experience with online teaching platforms or distance education delivery is strongly preferred.
• HVAC-R certification(s) required (EPA Section 608 required; NATE or similar certifications preferred).
• Associate’s degree or equivalent technical diploma/certification in HVAC-R or a related field (preferred).
• Prior instructional or training experience highly preferred.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong commitment to student learning and career success.
