Job Type: Part-time (15-20 hrs/week), 1099 Contract

Rate: $28.00 - $30.00 per hour depending on experience

Schedule: Flexible; Monday-Friday with occasional weekend work

Education: Associate’s degree required; background or experience in invasive species management preferred

The North American Invasive Species Management Association (NAISMA) is a not-for-profit organization that seeks a PlayCleanGo® Program Assistant to further its mission: to empower invasive species management in North America. We value collaboration, inclusivity, and strong partnerships with professionals across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico.

PlayCleanGo®: Stop Invasive Species In Your Tracks® is NAISMA’s official branded education and outreach campaign focused on preventing the spread of invasive species through outdoor recreation pathways.

We are seeking a highly organized PlayCleanGo® Program Assistant to support the day-to-day implementation of PlayCleanGo® education and outreach activities. This is a part-time support role focused on carrying out established work plans, maintaining organized records, coordinating partner communications, and assisting with outreach, social media, and program logistics.

The successful candidate will be comfortable managing recurring tasks, tracking multiple projects, following established workflows, and meeting deadlines while providing professional support to partners across North America.

This position works closely with the Director of Invasive Species Programming and plays an important role in helping implement the PlayCleanGo® Five-Year Program Plan and current grant-funded activities.

Key Responsibilities:

Program Support

Provide administrative and operational support for the implementation of the PlayCleanGo® Five-Year Program Plan and current grant activities, including assisting with:

• Partner outreach and follow-up communications
• Maintaining partner records and tracking engagement activities
• PlayCleanGo® Awareness Week planning and implementation
• Event logistics and preparation
• Completing recurring program tasks according to established timelines and workflows

Boot Brush Program Support

Support the distribution of boot brush stations and handheld boot brushes by:

• Tracking boot brush station and handheld boot brush orders from request through fulfillment
• Maintaining accurate spreadsheets, databases, and project records
• Following established workflows for customer communication and order tracking
• Following up with partners regarding installations, photos, and campaign participation
• Updating the Boot Brush Station Map and related program databases
• Supporting ongoing partner relationship management and recruitment of new PlayCleanGo® partners

Communications and Graphic Design

Support PlayCleanGo® communications by creating and scheduling content that aligns with established brand standards. Responsibilities include:

• Creating graphics and social media posts using Canva and existing brand templates
• Assisting with drafting social media posts, newsletters, and email communications
• Scheduling and monitoring social media content according to the communications calendar
• Engaging professionally with partners and the public on PlayCleanGo® social media channels
• Sharing partner success stories and amplifying partner content
• Assisting with maintaining website content

Grant and Reporting Support

• Assist with tracking program activities and deliverables
• Help compile content and data for grant reports and applications
• Ensure tasks are completed on schedule in alignment with internal and external deadlines

Events and Exhibits

• Assist in managing the PlayCleanGo® exhibit at the NAISMA Annual Conference
• Support exhibit logistics including ordering materials and coordinating volunteers

Team and Organizational Support

• Participate in NAISMA team meetings and collaborate with staff
• Provide customer service for members and partners
• Support other NAISMA programs and initiatives as time allows

• Ability to manage recurring tasks and meet established deadlines
• Experience maintaining spreadsheets, databases, or other tracking systems
• Strong written communication and professional customer service skills
• Ability to follow established processes and work independently after training
• Excellent time management and ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities
• Experience creating graphics and social media content using Canva or similar design software while following established brand guidelines
• Proficiency with Google Workspace and Microsoft Office
• Ability to collaborate effectively in a remote team environment
• Interest or experience in invasive species management, conservation, environmental education or outdoor recreation is preferred

Reporting Structure

This position will work closely with and receive supervision from the Director of Invasive Species Programming and will report administratively to the Executive Director.
