Squash & Racquet Sports Development Coordinator
Friedman Jewish Community Center
The Friedman Jewish Community Center (JCC) is launching an exciting squash and racquet sports development initiative — and we are seeking a full‑time, energetic, skilled, and community‑minded leader to help build it from the ground up.
With two regulation squash courts, a strong regional racquetball and pickleball community, and a consultant providing strategic guidance, we are ready to grow. We need a motivated, personable, and athletic professional who wants to make an impact, develop programs, and grow into a broader leadership role within the JCC’s athletic and recreation department.
This is an exceptional opportunity for a recent college graduate, collegiate squash player, or young professional looking to launch a career in sports management, community recreation, or athletic administration.
Primary Responsibilities – Squash & Racquet Sports Development
- Serve as the face of JCC Squash, creating a welcoming, inclusive, and energetic environment.
- Teach youth and adult clinics, including beginner and intermediate group instruction.
- Provide private lessons as demand grows.
- Develop and deliver a squash component for JCC Summer Camp (ages 5–13).
- Build and manage ladders, leagues, round robins, and open play sessions.
- Conduct outreach to local schools, youth programs, and community partners to introduce squash and build participation pipelines.
- Engage the region’s racquetball and pickleball communities to encourage crossover interest.
- Assist in developing and overseeing a table tennis program; intermediate skill preferred or willingness to learn.
- Collaborate with the JCC’s squash consultant to execute the long‑term development plan.
Additional Responsibilities – JCC Operations, Mission Support & Member Engagement
This is a full‑time position. When not on court, the Coordinator will support the daily operations of the JCC, gaining broad experience in community center management:
- Data entry & administrative support: membership updates, program tracking, scheduling, and basic office tasks.
- Member engagement: greeting members, answering questions, supporting front‑of‑house operations.
- Mission‑driven program support, which may include assisting with the JCC’s food pantry, community outreach events, or other service‑oriented initiatives.
- Event & rental support: assisting with room setup, breakdown, and transitions for community events and rentals.
- Facility oversight: helping maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment.
- General support across departments to advance the JCC’s mission of serving the community.
- Bonus value: candidates with bookkeeping or accounting acumen may assist with basic financial or program‑tracking tasks.
These responsibilities provide meaningful professional development and prepare the candidate for future advancement.
