TECHNICAL PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

WHY THIS ROLE EXISTS -

We have sharp engineers working on one of the hardest problems in medical imaging. What we need is someone who can hold that complexity together without slowing anyone down. Someone who turns brilliant, fast-moving technical work into a system that actually ships.

Lumijes is developing cutting-edge medical technology for dermatology. Our multidisciplinary team is creating innovative imaging and software solutions that support earlier, more accurate clinical decision-making while advancing the future of skin health. We need a Technical Product Development Manager who understands what it takes to carry a medical device from prototype through FDA submission without losing momentum.

WHAT YOU’LL OWN-

This is not a coordination role. It is a leadership role with real accountability. You will be the connective tissue between mechanical engineers, software engineers, and external contractors, and you will be the person who makes sure the right things get built in the right order.

• Own the requirements. Capture, document, and maintain detailed system requirements using tools like Visure, built well enough to hold up under FDA scrutiny.
• Drive the schedule. Break complex engineering work into actionable tasks, settimelines, and hold the team to them without creating drag.
• Keep everyone aligned. Surface conflicts between mechanical, software, and external contractors before they become crises.
• Define what done means. Establish verification and validation criteria tied to every requirement so the team always knows when something is actually finished.
• Build the quality foundation. Establish documentation standards and best practicesnow so the regulatory process is not a scramble later.
• Own risk. Track progress, spot problems early, and make the call to adjust priorities when things change.
• Contribute technically. This team does not need a note-taker. You need to hold your own in conversations about optics, robotics, imaging, and embedded systems.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR-

We need someone who has done this in the real world. If your background is managing software sprints for a SaaS product, this is probably not the right fit. If you have navigated the complexity of hardware-software systems in a regulated environment and come out the other side with something that shipped, we want to talk.

• 10+ years in technical product management or systems engineering, with hardware-software systems rather than software alone.
• You have written detailed requirements that had to survive regulatory scrutiny. Medical devices or robotics strongly preferred.
• You can hold a technical conversation about robotics, computer vision, optical systems, and embedded platforms without needing it translated.
• Fluent in requirements management tools: Visure, Jama, DOORS, or equivalent.
• You have worked in regulated environments. FDA experience is a strong preference,not a checkbox.
• You thrive in small, fast-moving teams where ambiguity is the norm and waiting for permission is not an option.

EVEN BETTER IF YOU BRING -

• Direct medical device development experience.
• You know what FDA 21 CFR 820 and ISO 13485 mean in practice.
• Background in computer vision or robotics projects.
• Agile or Scrum experience that actually made the team faster, not just more ceremonial.
