We are currently seeking a 2nd Shift Process Engineering Technician (3:30 PM - 12 AM) to join our team in Akron, PA. Please note: this position will train on 1st Shift (6 AM-2:30 PM) before changing to 2nd shift

The Process Engineering Technician provides technical support to Rosenberger’s Engineering, Quality and Production departments. In this role, the Technician will be engaged in existing and new product development by building sample or prototype cable assemblies and coaxial connectors. The Technician will carry out performance testing, evaluate and document results using precision mechanical, electrical and High Frequency laboratory test equipment.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Essential Functions of the Job:Qualified individuals must have the ability (with or without reasonable accommodation) to perform the following duties:

• Responsible for the Production Line setup process and line changeovers.
• Provide technical guidance and training to Production Operators, verify technical training effectiveness.
• Monitor the Production Process and proactively identify issues to reduce downtime and conserve maintenance costs.
• Perform in-process inspections to verify conformity to Customer / Engineering requirements.
• Perform high level maintenance on production tooling and machines.
• Support Engineering and Production by diagnosing and solving technical issues.
• Review technical documentation from Engineering to assure end product meets specifications.
• Review process documentation, work instructions and training plans of the assigned Production Area for accuracy. Collaborate with Process Engineers in updating these documents.
• Resource for Quality, Engineering, and Production during new part builds, Continuous Improvement projects and in the resolution of quality issues.
• Support scrap reduction, rate improvement, and cost reduction projects lead by Process Engineers.
• Maintain strong attention to detail, while working with a sense of urgency.
• Handle multiple responsibilities and react quickly to changing priorities with flexibility and willingness.
• Maintains regular, predictable attendance.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma or GED. Associates Degree in a technical discipline (mechanical or electrical engineering) preferred.
• Formal apprenticeship or five (5) years of equivalent training.
• 5+ years of direct, hands-on experience in process improvement for manufacturing.
• Knowledge of basic measuring devices (calipers, micrometer, multimeter) required.
• Knowledge of electrical test equipment (oscilloscope, network analyzer, spectrum analyzer, continuity tester) preferred.
• Experience in hand soldering of electrical components and/or Printed Circuit Boards is required.
• Knowledge of Continuous Improvement tools (Lean, Six Sigma) preferred.
• Ability to work as part of cross-functional team.
• Ability to come up with creative solutions to new design and machining challenges.
• Ability to reason through and identify root cause of manufacturing-related issues.

• Exceptional hand-coordination and dexterity to work with small electronic components with tolerances of .0001”.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.50 - $30.50 per hour
