Responsibilities

• Operate heavy machinery such as loaders, excavators, forklifts, front loader trucks, roll-off trucks and other heavy equipment to move and sort metals effectively.
• Sort metals accurately based on type, size, and quality to meet processing specifications.
• Conduct routine cleaning and sanitation of work areas, machinery, and equipment to uphold safety and hygiene standards.
• Assist with loading and unloading materials using appropriate equipment, ensuring safe lifting techniques are followed.
• Perform regular inspections of equipment to identify maintenance needs or safety hazards; report issues promptly.
• Follow all safety protocols and operational procedures to prevent accidents and ensure compliance with workplace regulations.

Experience

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work in all weather conditions.
• operating loaders, excavators, forklifts, or similar heavy machinery in manufacturing or recycling environments is preferred.
• Familiarity with metal sorting processes.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during daily tasks.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow instructions precisely.
• Demonstrated commitment to safety standards and proper equipment handling
• Must be able to frequently lift 25 lbs or more.
• Must be able to stand for significant lengths of time in all weather conditions.
• Must be able to perform the physical task of the job assigned; to include climbing, bending,stooping, kneeling and crouching.

Qualifications of Equipment Operater

• High School diploma, GED Certification, or equivalent work experience.
• 1 years experience operating Cat, Sennebogen, Baler Logger in the scrap metal industries.
• 1 year minimal experience in recycing/demolition
