Overview
The Sr. Estimator - Commercial Construction is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for commercial construction projects. This role requires a deep understanding of construction processes, materials, and labor costs. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and collaborative.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects by analyzing blueprints, specifications, and other relevant documents.
• Solicit and review quotes from subcontractors and suppliers.
• Create and maintain project cost databases and budgets.
• Prepare bid proposals and participate in bid reviews.
• Collaborate with project managers, architects, and engineers to ensure estimates align with project scope and design.
• Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits as required.
• Track historical cost data to improve accuracy of future estimates.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and value engineering options.
• Conduct site visits to assess project requirements and gather data for estimates.
• Maintain organized records of estimates, contracts, and correspondence related to pricing and negotiations.
• Provide support in project management tasks as needed, ensuring effective communication between all stakeholders.

Requirements

• Proven experience in construction estimating or a related field.
• Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to build strong relationships with subcontractors and suppliers.
• Solid knowledge of cost control measures and budgeting processes.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and technical documents effectively.
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective collaboration with team members.
• Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and codes.
• Excellent math and analytical skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• 5+ years of experience in commercial construction estimating.
• Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, ProEst, PlanSwift, Sage Estimating).
