Position Overview

Freezer Engineering is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our growing team. This role is ideal for an experienced electrical engineer who thrives on technical ownership of complex power system designs, from low, medium and high voltage distribution to protection and controls, supporting our skid-based and industrial facility projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design and analysis for industrial power distribution systems, including medium voltage equipment, protection schemes, and modular skid electrical packages
• Perform power system studies (load flow, short circuit, arc flash, protective device coordination) using SKM Power*Tools
• Develop and review one-line diagrams, panel schedules, cable/conduit schedules, and equipment specifications
• Support client-facing utility interconnection efforts, including exposure to utility application processes and requirements
• Contribute to or lead studies involving PSS/E and/or PSCAD where project scope requires interconnection or transient stability analysis
• Mentor junior and mid-level electrical engineers and review their design work for accuracy and code compliance
• Coordinate with process, piping, and controls disciplines to ensure integrated project delivery
• Interface directly with clients, vendors, and contractors throughout project lifecycles
• Ensure designs meet NEC, NFPA 70E, IEEE, and other applicable industry codes and standards

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (or related field)
• 5+ years of relevant electrical engineering experience in industrial, oil & gas, or power systems environments
• Proficiency with SKM Power*Tools (load flow, short circuit, coordination, arc flash)
• Strong working knowledge of medium, low and high voltage power distribution design
• Must be a U.S. Citizen
• Strong communication skills and ability to work directly with clients

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional Engineer (PE) license, or active pursuit of licensure
• Broader power systems knowledge, including exposure to utility interconnection applications and processes
• Familiarity with PSS/E and/or PSCAD for system studies and interconnection modeling
• Experience with modular/skid-based electrical package design
• Prior experience in oil, gas, chemical, or heavy industrial sectors
