About the Company
We are a rapidly growing specialty contractor providing mechanical flushing, reverse osmosis water treatment, temporary pumping systems, hydrostatic testing support, boiler services, and commissioning support for mission-critical data centers and industrial facilities throughout the United States.
We are seeking a highly motivated Mechanical Flushing Estimator to join our estimating team. This position plays a critical role in securing new projects by developing accurate, competitive, and profitable estimates while working closely with owners, general contractors, mechanical contractors, and internal operations.
Position Summary
The Mechanical Flushing Estimator is responsible for preparing complete project estimates for mechanical flushing and related specialty services. The ideal candidate understands commercial mechanical systems, piping layouts, construction schedules, labor productivity, equipment requirements, and project risk.
This individual must be detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing multiple bids simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and profitability.
Primary Responsibilities
- Review plans, specifications, bid documents, and contract requirements.
- Perform quantity takeoffs for piping systems requiring mechanical flushing.
- Develop labor, equipment, material, trucking, water, chemical, and disposal estimates.
- Prepare detailed project budgets and cost breakdowns.
- Solicit pricing from vendors and subcontractors.
- Evaluate project risks, exclusions, assumptions, and contingencies.
- Coordinate with Operations to validate production rates and project execution strategies.
- Prepare formal proposals and bid packages.
- Attend pre-bid meetings and project walkthroughs when required.
- Maintain estimating databases and historical cost information.
- Participate in project turnover meetings after contract award.
- Support change order pricing and additional work requests.
- Track bid results and continuously improve estimating accuracy.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of estimating experience in commercial or industrial mechanical construction.
- Strong understanding of hydronic piping systems, chilled water, condenser water, heating hot water, and process piping.
- Ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with one or more of the following:
- Mechanical flushing
- Data center construction
- Commissioning support
- Water treatment systems
- Temporary pumping systems
- Hydrostatic testing
- Mechanical piping installation
- Estimating software (Bluebeam, Planswift, Accubid, Trimble, OST, or similar)
- Primavera or Microsoft Project
- Procore
- Autodesk Build
