Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled professional for our prototying operatons. The ideal candidate will possess extensive expertise in CNC machining, programming, and tooling setup, with a focus on precision manufacturing and prototype development. This role involves programming complex CNC machines, including 5-axis CNC milling and lathe machines, to produce high-quality prototypes that meet engineering specifications. The successful applicant will demonstrate proficiency in CAD/CAM software, blueprint interpretation, and mechanical knowledge to ensure efficient and accurate machining processes.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize CNC programs using CAD/CAM software such as SolidWorks, CATIA, and other engineering CAD design tools for complex prototypes.
• Set up and operate advanced CNC machinery, including 5-axis CNC milling machines and CNC lathes, ensuring precise tool alignment and calibration.
• Interpret mechanical blueprints, schematics, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) specifications to accurately produce prototype components.
• Configure and maintain CNC tooling, including bore gauges, calipers, micrometers, and precision measurement instruments for quality assurance.
• Implement lean manufacturing principles to streamline setup processes, reduce waste, and improve overall efficiency in prototyping workflows.
• Program CNC machines with CAM software for metal machining applications involving electrical discharge machining (EDM) and other precision techniques.
• Conduct measurement and quality control using coordinate measuring machines (CMM), calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and other measurement tools to ensure parts meet strict tolerances.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to troubleshoot machining issues, optimize tool paths, and improve machining accuracy for complex geometries.

Experience

• Proven experience in CNC programming and machine setup within a manufacturing or prototyping environment.
• Extensive knowledge of Fanuc controls or similar CNC control systems is essential.
• Hands-on experience with CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or CATIA for design interpretation and modification.
• Familiarity with CAM programming software for generating tool paths for CNC milling machines and lathes.
• Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret mechanical blueprints and schematics accurately.
• Experience working with 5-axis CNC machining centers and understanding of machining tool setup for complex geometries.
• Knowledge of measurement techniques using precision instruments such as micrometers, bore gauges, calipers, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and schematics for quality assurance.
• Understanding of lean manufacturing principles to enhance setup efficiency and reduce cycle times in prototyping processes.
