Position Overview

Northern Illinois Medical Associates is seeking a relationship-driven and highly organized Provider Relations Coordinator to strengthen communication and collaboration with physicians, specialists, healthcare partners, and referral providers. This fully remote position supports provider engagement initiatives, referral coordination, credentialing support, and administrative activities that help ensure a seamless experience for providers and patients.

Key Responsibilities

Provider Support

• Serve as a primary point of contact for provider offices, referral partners, and affiliated healthcare organizations.
• Respond to provider inquiries regarding referrals, scheduling processes, documentation requirements, and administrative requests.
• Build and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external healthcare partners.
• Route clinical or medical inquiries to the appropriate departments.

Provider Relations Coordination

• Coordinate provider onboarding activities and assist with orientation materials for new provider partners.
• Support referral workflows by monitoring incoming and outgoing referrals.
• Maintain provider contact information, directories, and communication records.
• Schedule provider meetings, virtual presentations, and follow-up communications.

Administrative Operations

• Maintain accurate provider records within CRM, provider databases, and electronic systems.
• Prepare reports, provider communications, meeting agendas, and administrative documentation.
• Assist with provider credentialing documentation and file maintenance when needed.
• Ensure provider records remain organized, complete, and current.

Collaboration & Process Support

• Work closely with patient services, scheduling, referral coordinators, and administrative teams to support provider needs.
• Monitor outstanding provider requests and ensure timely follow-up.
• Identify opportunities to improve provider communication and operational workflows.
• Participate in departmental projects and quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

Required

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in healthcare administration, medical office support, provider relations, referral coordination, customer service, office administration, insurance verification, or administrative support.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Ability to work independently in a fully remote work environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, electronic medical record (EMR) systems, CRM platforms, and web-based business applications.

Preferred

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field.
• Experience working in a physician practice, hospital, specialty clinic, healthcare network, or medical group.
• Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems, provider databases, referral management software, or credentialing processes.
• Experience supporting provider onboarding, referral management, or healthcare operations.
• Previous remote work experience.

Pay: $50,217.05 - $60,476.45 per year
